So not sure if any of you heard of this or not but the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts currently has an exhibit of a huge amazing amount of Kirk Hammet (of Metallica)'s collection of posters and other monster things on display.

I was there on September third. Got tons of pictures (yes, they allow pictures) with all sorts of stuff. Too many things to mention. But surely some highlights were the face prosthetics Lon Chaney Junior wore in Abbott and Costello, a head from Revenge of the Creature, Boris Karloff's  suit from The Black Cat, Bela Lugosi's shirt from White Zombie, classic monster merchandise (including that old Creature aquarium toy inside an actually aquarium tank, Great Garloo, and the remote controlled Marx Frankenstein), so many amazing original posters (with descriptions of how and by whom were they were made), three original Basil Gogos paintings, and an original; giant King Kong standee. They also had an original "Zapatron" prop which they didn't specify if it was from any particular movies but they noted that these had been used in Frankenstein movies. So I assume they just may not be sure which movies this particular Zapatron was used in. There was also an old style TV playing classic ads and a collection of Hammet's guitars with designs of classic posters on them. Plus another guitar with a Ouija board image on it.

I got pictures of all these things too. So, I'll share some. And sorry that I look so awful the way I'm posing in some of them. I just couldn't think of a good expression to make.

The ZAPATRON!!!!!!

And, since I'm already posting all this, here's a Fanta Orange soda bottle I found today that has the new Mummy on it:

I was just in Salem and saw the outside of the museum but I didn't have time to go in. I did manage to squeeze in a visit to Count Orlocks Nightmare Gallery to check out the new figures and pick up a new Creature and Wolfman shirt and also a Dracula wallet and a Wolfman wallet for my Universal collection. My wife took a couple of pictures of the outside of the museum so I got something out of it.
