Aurora GODZILLA Restored!
« on: May 18, 2017, 11:34:10 PM »
Finished the King of the Monsters tonight...unfortunately I have to wait on the base. I'm missing a part.
Got a replacement part coming but won't be here 'til Saturday.

Aurora based their kit off the 1962 suit from Godzilla vs. King Kong, which makes sense since that was the current film at the time.

I went pretty movie accurate with this one and stayed away from the typical green that you usually see.

Thanks for letting me know which movie the model was based on. I had been wondering that, since I'm not a super big Godzilla fanatic. Fits perfectly that it's from King Kong vs, too.

Dwayne; that looks AWESOME!!!  Speaking of awesome, your Mutants went out this am by insured Priority Mail, so you should have them by Monday. BTW, BEFORE your tear one open to build, I have a few COMPLETE but rebagged kits here that would be GREAT to build, but I can not really say much more than that at this time.  :D

^Thanks Tom!  That Godzilla is one of the bagged kits I got from you last year!

Beautiful paint job. Better than most I have seen. Also, they may have based the suit on the 62, but it looks about as much as G 62 as their Kong looked like Kong 33.  ;D However, for the time, it was good and one should be thankful they at least had those models.

Honestly, I think the headsculpt on the Aurora kit looks better than the actual suit, especially from the front. It almost looks like Ray Meyers only had a side view to work with, and fudged the rest.

That may be right, as the MOM acetate prototype is almost identical to this one. I'd love to see what you would do with the Aurora Rodan and Gihidrah.

Rodan is coming soon...I plan to do him by year's end. Up next is Wolfman, then Kong, and Moebius Robin.
