As much as I want one, theres no way I can pay $300 for it. I thought it was an actual commercial release like the lost Monster Scenes Animal  Pit and Dungeon. Not an elitist limited run intended to bypass the unwashed common man, lol. :D ;) So I guess I aint getting one. Oh well.

EDIT: IT'S ACTUALLY 350.00 PLUS SHIPPING. WOW!

I also was very excited. I was thinking Dencomm, Moebius, or even Pegasus had finally convinced the fella who was sitting on the original sculpt to actually allow them to go into production. Whoever the collector is, he is also sitting on the Monsters of the Movies Godzilla that was never produced. Probably never will be either, lol.

There are conflicting reports as to what Mutant was actually selling for initially. I had heard $125, which was still high....but within reach if some sacrifices were made. But the ebay green link tells all.  All collectibles seem to be so pricey now. Maybe I ought to start collecting beanie babies, lol. Nobody wants those things anymore.

At any rate, I am out of the running for one, kudos to all who get one, and Live Long and Prosper. The Rainman Psycho set was my one venture into insanity for the entire year....and I have a feeling its all I will be getting that's over the $100 price mark for 2017. Unless I wanna see how Fancy Feast tastes, lol.

Amazing! I had no idea Aurora ever planned to release Sci Fi Scenes.
It must've been a lot of trouble tooling this figure for limited production
which probably justifies the high cost, plus the fact that the molds are
now unusable. The color styrene they chose to cast them in is rather
odd but I like the figure's fighting stance. In years to come they'll
likely be worth even more than they are now. Thanks, Mcdee.

There's a new base that goes with it, but essentially yes...that's the one.  It's a nice kit. Aurora also did a Faye Wray prototype that was never released. Supposedly started work on a Phantom and Christin as well. Alas, Aurora folded up before any of this could see the light of day. Dave Cockrum did the design sketches. I think he actually sold signed prints at a Wonderfest for some of the kits before he passed away.

Guys that was an ebay price.... I just bought one for $125.00 from Cult of Personality
The owner of this sculpt and other Aurora Prototype Sculpts (Godzilla & the Tokyo Tower, Fay Wray ) is Phil Ceparano   Talks are ongoing with him... A limited run of Fay Wray was produced in 2011 and I've got one of those...

This is the famous scene when Christine (played by Mary Philbin) unmasks the Phantom, Erik (played by Lon Chaney).

and the topic of this thread...

McDee...I know Tom's a member here, as do most.  I am by no means trying to say anything negative about him, and I don't think anyone else is either. He's always been aces with me.

I think what a lot of us were thinking was what I explained. That we thought they might be getting the Animal Pit and Dungeon treatment. To discover the ebay finished price in the face of say: spending $35-45 bucks on one...well, surely you can imagine the soul crushing dismay, lol.

I emailed Tom about the $125 price I had heard making the rounds. Thats at least in the realm of possiblity for me. I tried his webpage first, but it says its under construction presently.

I had one of those Faye Wrays many moons ago. Mine didnt have a gigantic King Kong arm with it,lol. I am guessing thats an after market add on. If they can get that Godzilla into production.....some folks may even rise from the dead to buy one.  It's very coveted.

This kit picture you've posted is the resin issue from a few years ago that came with a COA like mine below...

The new kit is Styrene and so more parts are involved like the arms and legs are in pieces and you have to add the eyes to the styrene Mutant kit... the base is also new...
