One day I'll sort out photo bucket
Just use that "Forum" link.
... so I came up with the idea of creating little Halloween "fun packs" from pillow boxes (the kind they stuff with mints or whatever and hand out as wedding favors), inspired by the 1960s Phoenix Candy "Frankenstein" box:
Those look absolutely awesome!I have a couple of suggestions for you:1- Since the Best Plastics flats are relatively expensive now you obviously can't use those, but plastic soldiers won't cut it. You can get neato plastic monster figures pretty cheap in Big Bucket Of Monsters tubes but those are too big to fit, so... buy a few cheap bags of Rings and Creatures at Dollar Tree around Hween and put one in every box.Another possibility might be Zombie figures from Walmart:They're small and skinny, but may still be a little too large to fit in the boxes with the other stuff (2" tall). I'm pretty sure Walmart still sells these (around $5 a bucket) but if they don't I have some extras I'll send to you. 2- Don't worry about a little veiled non-PC humor slipped in. We had it in the '60s with certain Horror Hosts so there is precedence. Everyone is too touchy these days about every little thing. Just my opinion.
Which forum link Mike? Is there a way to upload directly to this site?
I made my first pass at the play money last night and cleaned it up some today:My idea is to use the same layout with a variety of different monsters in the middle. I printed one out today to test, and it was OK, but I really would like to find a different type of paper for it. I'm thinking about linen paper, the kind you use to print resumes.
That is fabulous! I'm betting you get a number of requests from UMAers for sets of the bills as well as the boxes.
Horrorhunter, I'm convinced! Once I get them put together this summer, I'll put some up for sale. I never dreamed there would be any interest in this beyond, "Hey, that's a cool idea for trick-or-treaters," but between the messages on here and the PMs I've received... I guess there is!Today, I tried printing the money fronts and backs together... it didn't work out so well. I'm not sure why, but I still have some work to do in getting everything to line up just right.
