No matter how much you polish the story, it still has a horrible ending. The book was so thick. I remember reading it when it came out, and the ending was such a letdown. It's almost as if King was just writing along with no idea how to end it, and then "boom" - the dumb sci-fi ending. The first half of the old TV movie was very creepy, but the second half ruined it for me. This is a wait-until-IT-comes-to-DVD movie...no pun intended.

The way you capitalized "IT" makes it seem like you did intend a pun.

I do have to agree with you Rickshas about the second half of the TV movie being a let down for me also. I've never read the book so have no idea how it compares but the first half of the film was so good and ticked all the boxes as I remember it, but then I started to lose interest from that point on and it sort of fizzled out.

I'm surprised how similar this new trailer is to the TV movie, some shots really do look the same but maybe it will end differently. It may also be helped by a shorter running time than the TV version but I guess we'll all have to wait and see. Can't knock the clown though!

The only thing that is memorable about -IT, is Pennywise. Other than that,  I have no interest in the new film.

A recurring criticism of King over the years has been that he doesn't end books well.

I fully agree. It's not a very scary movie. Long, dragged out...Pennywise is the only saving grace, imo.
