Nope, no blue denim or red laces in the film.  An interesting choice of clothing, for sure.  But because it's a Steve Thompson sculpt, and the packaging looks great, I'm all in!
I have to agree with you on the card art....it is exceptional.

I third that (if that's indeed a phrase!), that card art is stunning.

Easy to fix. $2.98 at Wally World.  ;)  If it bugs ya.  If it doesn't then you're aces. I may tinker with mine when I get it. I usually futz with my figures. Even if it is just the addition of socks, or placiing a tray inside for the figure to rest in. Always have....probably always will.

I ordered one to finish the set, but I have to admit I'm a little underwhelmed. DD figures usually look better in person so here's hoping for that.

As far as "tinkering" goes, if I drop 85 bucks on an action figure I expect all the "tinkering" to already be done. But, maybe that's just me. I don't customize action figures.

Just dropping a suggestion HH. ;) If the colors used don't do it for ya.... then there's always a work around. But if ya don't do work arounds...then I get ya.

I've tweaked lots of figures I have bought over the years. The Langdon Zombie being the latest. He got a new outfit put on him. I guess I do it because I just get a mental vision of the way I want something to look..... and make it happen if it doesn't arrive the way I envisioned it. Usually just with small run custom items like these. Not very often with something Sideshow did or someone like that.

The Prem Mummy looks better in person. As for this Frankenstein, I did order it and I am a firm supporter of DD, but I do agree with Horror Hunter. I think it might be because I had pictured in my head a mego version of DD's original 1/6 Evil of Frankenstein figure, which I own. I found this stock photo on line. I think that figure is magnificent and spent 2 years trying to track it down. It is highly accurate to the film.

Also, I love customized figures and actually mostly collect customs. However, I also agree that given these are finished pieces and already considered customs somewhat, no tinkering should need to be done.

I see your point, Anton, and I respect your POV. I just like to keep my collectibles pure. I'll trim excess strings, throw away tape and bubble wrap, and other minor things like that, but I choose not to monkey with paint jobs, clothing, and packaging. I did draw that overlay once for the first Naschy Werewolf but that can be removed anytime and it didn't alter the original packaging (mainly just to cover that original card art I didn't care for). I like to make custom toys sometimes but I just don't like to alter "official" pieces. Just my collecting choices and nothing against you fellows who do good work on your own figures.  ;)

If you google images for Evil of Frankenstein you will see that his costume comes up in various colours, blue, brown, grey, off green etc. The material is a small gauge linen, not denim, but those of you who purchased will realise that upon arrival. Look closely, you will see the pattern in the outfit. The string is brown, not red. In fact every material is the same as the 12 inch version so maybe it's just the lighting or the scale that makes it look different. But as I say, let me know when it arrives if you have any issues.

Yes, incandescent lighting can greatly change colors on items it pictures. It throws a yellow hue on everything and changes all colors. Whenever I take pics in indoor light, I always have to change the color. I look forward to seeing this figure in person.

Thanks for the clarification, Martin. There is also a lot of red in his face based on your photos, which I found a bit odd. I assumed you were purposely going for an alternative look to differentiate from the 1/6 figure. Glad to hear it is just the lighting of the photos.

Closet Monster and Jan in the pan arrived today. I think this may be one of DD's best....if not, its certainly a favorite because I love the goofy movie. I won't comment on the Closet monster's head paints (since I did them that would be braggadocious and self serving), but rather all the rest.

The card art is superb. Everything Gearing does is right up my alley. Color choices are great. Sculpts are phenomenal. Jan's head paints are out of this world. Especially since she is essentially an accessory....yet also the main feature of the film, and not to mention the central character for which the film is titled.

Clothing: the clothing is almost exactly like the film, and is most impressive. I kid you not. Here are some pics:

The blood splatter pattern is well done and nicely placed, the undershirt is sleeve less and patterned linen, and the shoes are great. No socks...but guess what?? in this film the monster doesn't wear any! Yay!

When the pre-order went up, I thought I would switch the shoes out when mine arrived,  since the ones pictured in the pre-order photos were white. When mine arrived: I had brown shoes just like he had on in the flick! Nice!!! Pleased as punch to have this one in my collection. Technically this figure is my swan song, (even though Cat and Legend of the Werewolf are forthcoming) and a team up with Martin. With Martin  carrying most of the duties. Love the figure and glad to ahve it in my line up. Hope everyone who got one loves theirs as much as I do mine. Live Long and Prosper.

Wow, that figure is amazing! I knew it would be. Usually the selling pics do not do the figure justice. Your pics are awesome. Is the pan in there somewhere? I love the card art. Your paint on the head is fantastic. I see your painting skills becoming more and more masterful as time goes on.

Yes, the pan is bagged and laying under the tray with Jan's head under the monster's body. That's another good use for those body trays. Keeps everything from falling over. unfortunately the design I bought is no longer made....and I only have a dozen or so left.

I am loving this addition to the line up. I didn't have anything collectible from of this film, so this is a nice ackowledgment of it.

I am surprised there isn't more excitement and discussion about the omega man 2-pack. I would have thought this would have not only sold out in minutes but that there would have been a huge appreciation of finally having figures from this cult classic. I for one am very great full of this offering. I think the sculpts are just fantastic. Too bad Heston doesn't have his gun belt though. These two figures will work great with the old mego planet of the apes catapult and wagon. Looking forward to getting this set.

Traffic, in general, on this site has dropped off to next to nothing. its almost like it is against the law to post here. ;D 4 years or so ago, there was so much traffic through here, topics would get a couple of pages of comments in a day.
