Topps Uglies/monster jigglers/King Kong-related figures?
« on: February 24, 2017, 09:02:46 AM »
(I wanna say that I was here before, maybe years ago? /shrug)

Hello and good day fellow monster fans.  I'm (perpetually) on the hunt for jiggler monsters.  The Topps Uglies are among my favorites, but the stranger the better.  I'm also interested in Kong/generic 'rubber ape' stuff.  I've always got things to trade, and PayPal at the ready.
I'd love to see what you've got!

Thanks, Mike.   :)

So, guys, NO spare Uglies/rubber weirdos for sale/trade?  Sigh
:(

I assume you've tried eBay. That's where I find 95% of the old stuff I get. (But not everything I want.)

Yeah, eBay still seems to be the best place for older stuff when you weigh the time/trouble spent versus results. And, you can save a search and get emails from them to further save time and effort. But, like you say, not everything pops up when you want it. The collecting community didn't really have an accurate idea of the scarcity of certain collectibles before the internet, and especially eBay, because most trading was regional with limited national trading through adzines and shows/conventions. What we used to think was rare turned out to be a lot more common and prices dropped on some things when supply exceeded demand. Conversely, we found out what was really rare and a few collectibles shot up in value.

I haven't really tried to trade items with other collectors (not since I was a kid anyway). I guess it could work occasionally but it seems like a lot of extra time and trouble. That's what money's for.
ALWAYS MONSTERING...

NO Uglies/Slurfies/jiggler weirdos/etc. available for sale/swap?  :(

I've got lots of stuff to swap, guys, and don't mind shipping first seeing as how I'm a 'new guy' and all.  ;)
(Think I've got a few swaps under my belt here, but if so it's been ages!)

Thanks & be well!

Bumping this UP on the chance that someone has some Uglies for me!    :D  I'm into in all sorts of rubbery weirdos, folks, not just the 60s originals.  I'm very interested in these 70s/80s painted (non-oily) versions, typically found in quarter machines:

This particular fellow was very near and dear to me decades ago, I'd trade *very* heavily (PayPal, as well!) in your favor for either version:
(I noticed one recently on ebay, but he's on a vending card for close to $200.  I love the little guy, but $200 is insanity.)

(Lower right corner; I actually prefer this wider stance/tail variant.)

Thanks so much!   :)

Ok, I've tried to edit this two times...the last two pics just aren't showing up for some reason...?

As coincidence would have it, several sweet Ugly pics trace back to Ray.  (Owner/operator of this fine site, or?)
Including some later bagged versions that nearly bring a nostalgia tear to my eye.

Ohhhh, Mr. Castile....my PalPal/empire of trade goods would be at your disposal!

It's a no-brainer -- KRUSHER!

As for 'The Crusher', I'm looking more and more like him each day!*
(*Just add a gray beard.)
