Me too, man! It sure took long enough. It seemed like everything else was hitting Blu, even crap like Manos, The Hands Of Fate , but we were in a Naschy drought. Now, finally we're getting some real Naschy action this year after the two Naschy BDs last year whet our appetites (Count Dracula's Great Love being a great release, and Crimson with a very good release of one of Naschy's weakest entries). I just hope Code Red found the missing scenes from The Mummy's Revenge and Assignment Terror. That would really ice the cake.Naschy's is known as "the Spanish Lon Chaney (Jr.)", but as much as I respect and enjoy Chaney that isn't really accurate. Naschy did it all! Jacinto Molina Alvarez began as a screenwriter before Paul Naschy was even created. Then he went on to write, star in, and later direct, several of the best Eurohorror films in history, as well as European Cinema in other genres. Naschy's contributions to film should be celebrated and enjoyed.
It was so cheap it was worth buying just to have an example of it in the collection. I knew they would eventually bring the whole thing out on BD though. I'll get the BD set when it gets cheap then that's the end of the line for me. If Uni keeps milking it further by releasing the BD set in variant packaging I'll pass on that.
I met Mr. Naschy at a Fangoria Weekend of Horror convention, and he was the nicest Man. Extremely cool. With him, was a Female translator. But....He could seemy enthusiasm for his awesome films. R.I.P.Now that his films will be released on bluray, they (films)will be truly an experience. I cannot wait to see Horror rises.........on bluray.
Now that's cool, mars! He really was first and foremost a Horror fan. He really loved it just like we do. I wish he were still alive so we could take all of those fantastic Blu-rays that are coming out to a convention and get him to sign them all. There will never be another Golden Age Of Eurohorror like it was in the '60s and '70s, and there will never be another Paul Naschy. But, as long as we have the films to watch our Horror Heroes will never die. Karloff, Lugosi, both Chaneys, Lee, Cushing, Price, and yes...Naschy, will live forever.

I love the Christopher Lee Fu Manchu films! Great stuff!
How many Fu movies did Lee make? At least four, wasn't it?
Me too! Looks like a great year shaping up for genre films on Blu!BTW, have you been checking out the BD/DVD collectors videos on You Tube? There's a large community of collectors on YT that have some impressive collections. Some of the reviews are pretty good too. If mainstream retailers eventually stop carrying BD/DVDs due to streaming and "the cloud" I'm sure discs with nice packaging will continue to be manufactured and traded as a specialty market. Too many people love them for them to go away. The demand for physical collectibles representing our favorite movies is very strong among fans.
