Really great remastering/restoration by J.J. Abrahms' Bad Robot Productions of this classic horror film. First time in true HD. Best it's ever looked and the optional DTS soundtrack sounds great, not much rear speaker action but a strong audio presentation none the less. Stereo and Mono options are there as well. Love this movie! Angus would be proud....BOY!!  ;)

Warner To Release WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH On Blu-ray!

The Warner Archive Collection has just announced that they will release Hammer's WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH on Blu-ray this February. The film will be remastered in 1080p from a new HD remaster and will be presented in its original 1.85:1 aspect ratio with a DTS HD-Master English 2.0 Mono track and English SDH subtitles. The great news is that this will be the full 100-minute International Theatrical release version which contains all the nudity and violence missing from the U.S. G-rated version. After Raquel Welch conquered the screen in ONE MILLION YEAR B.C., Hammer Studios followed up with WHEN DINOSAURS RULED THE EARTH, written and directed by Val Guest (THE QUATERMASS XPERIMENT) and based on a story by J.G. Ballard (Crash). Victoria Vetri stars as Sanna, rescued from ritual sacrifice by Tara (Robin Hawdon), a member of a rival tribe. Her survival coincides with the mysterious formation of a new “fire” in the sky: the moon! Sanna’s old tribe blames her for this affront to the sun; Sanna flees their wrath and Tara follows. Their shared adventures loom as large as the giants who once ruled the earth! The disc will include an original theatrical trailer in HD and is expected to retail for under $20.

WOW! Both One Million Years B.C. and When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth (UNCUT!) Blu-rays street in February! I'm in for both.  :)

I know what you mean. The One Million Years B.C. BD is from Kino with many special features so it's pressed. I just heard about the WDRTE Blu on DVD Drive-In so I can only go by the info above that I copy/pasted. No extras were mentioned which is a bad sign, as is that "Warner Archives" designation. I certainly hope it's pressed and they add some special features. I have the OOP DVD but I'll get it even if it is a damned MOD. Love that dino flick and the babeage therein. Another bad sign is that no preorders are mentioned on Amazon or Diabolik.  :-\

The info above mentions WDRTE being remastered so you would think it would be a pressing. Fingers crossed.

If it is, then I'll think about trading in my DVD-R.

Looking like Italy's answer to THE BLOB, CALTIKI THE IMMORTAL MONSTER was influenced more by Hammer's THE QUATERMASS EXPERMIMENT than by AIP's crawling mass of grape jelly.

Legendary Italian director Riccardo Freda received screen credit, buy many reliable sources site Mario Bava as having directed most of the film.

In any event, CALTIKI is an unusual (and unusually good) entry in the "Big Monster" movie canon that deserves memorializing with a good print. The U.K.s Arrow Video appears to have done it with a Blu-ray version poised for release on April 10.

Caltiki The Immortal Monster 1959 Special Edition Blu-Ray:

Arrow Video presents a collaboration between two giants of Italian cult cinema Riccardo Freda (The Vampires, The Horrible Dr Hichcock) and Mario Bava (5 Dolls for an August Moon, Blood and Black Lace)!

A team of archaeologists led by Dr John Fielding (John Merivale, Circus of Horrors) descends on the ruins of an ancient Mayan city to investigate the mysterious disappearance of its inhabitants. However, the luckless explorers get more than they bargained for when their investigation of a sacrificial pool awakens the monster that dwells beneath its waters the fearsome and malevolent god Caltiki.

Though Riccardo Freda received sole directing credit, a significant portion of the film was in fact the work of Mario Bava, who also served as its cinematographer and was responsible its striking special effects. Drawing on a diverse array of influences, from The Quatermass Experiment to the works of HP Lovecraft, Caltiki the Immortal Monster is a unique and unforgettable sci-fi chiller which showcases these two legendary filmmakers at their most inventive. Presented here for the first time in a newly restored high definition transfer, Caltiki shines and terrifies like never before.

Just copy/pasting info from MMW. I'm glad to see Caltiki get a nice Blu-ray release, and I appreciate MMW letting us know about it. I can overlook minor errors in MMW's post.
