So we've completed 100 pages of this thread!  8) Here now is the first post of 100 more:

MPC (which was by then billing itself as Multiple Toymakers) released a fantastic King Kong Jungle Set in 1967. Here are some pictures I lifted from the net:

Horrorhunter has a really nice one but unfortunatelv the pictures he posted have been blurred by Photobucket.

The MPC playset was based on Rankin/Bass Productions' 24 half hour episodes of The King Kong Show cartoon series which ran on ABC from 6 September 1966 to 31 August 1969. The show featured characters based on designs by the incomparable Jack Davis. Here's a cool comic magazine ad mentioning the show:

MPC also issued the King Kong Jungle Set in this seldom seen but very snazzy window box:

Horrorhunter also has one of these but the pictures he posted are also Photobucket blurred.

It's quite uncommon these days which means that it was either an exclusive offer on the part of some chain retailer such as Sears or else MPC issued it late in the set's production history in an effort to revive flagging sales.

I've been a fan of the Kong cartoons since I was a kid and have collected some of the memorabilia associated with it over the years. Here's a hard to find bop bag made by Multiple Toymakers. They also made a Flipper, Tarzan, Bozo, Batman and some others in this large size bop bag line, too.

Hey! I didn't know about those Multiple Toymakers' bop bags! I just did a Search and I can't find any previous mention on this board.

Not too surprised--they're pretty hard to find. I remember of seeing an ad for them that had a photo of all of them in it.

Here's another hard to find piece, it's a Marx mini metal license plate. They also made a Godzilla, which I have, too.

And speaking of bop bags, the Imperial Toy Corporation put out some interesting ones in the 1980's. I saw some in a sundry item shop back in the late eighties but I foolishly failed to buy any. This incidentally led to me making the first thread I started  on UMA an inquiry about the bop bags I'd seen twenty or more years earlier!

http://www.universalmonsterarmy.com/forum/index.php?topic=12236.msg195955#msg195955

The first monster bop bag that Imperial released was evidently this Godzilla in 1983:

Here's a page from Imperial's 1987 catalogue:

And here are pictures I've been able to find of two of the bop bags shown in the catalogue:

I'm finding Dracula's expression very funny.  He looks like he farted and it didn't end the way he thought it would.

Here are a couple of pictures of the King Kong Jungle Sets from Horrorhunter's collection:

Horrorhunter can't log in to post. I believe a combination of Google Chrome and his anti-virus protection is preventing him from doing so.

Here's a hard to find King Kong that was based on the 1960's cartoons. It's a wind-up that was made in Japan, he stands about 8 inches tall. His arms legs and mouth all move. I only ever saw one with it's original box and it sold for more than three thousand dollars.

Thanks, glad you like him. In the post above I meant to say that I have only ever seen one with the original box once before, it was on e-bay about five or six years ago and it sold for more than three thousand. I bid on it but got way outbid. I'll probably never find a box for him that I could afford, but I'm happy just having the toy itself. If you keep looking, you'll eventually find one. It might take a while, though. Here's another shot of him...

Here's a King Kong talking hand puppet made by Mattel in 1966. I bought this off the store shelf and still have it. He's missing the Bobby Bond that goes in his hand.

Although not nearly as rare, I had bought a Real Ghostbusters firehouse playhouse on Ebay several years ago. Sometime later, there was an auction house, and among the things they had to pack up what people had won, was a box for the toy. When I asked them if I could buy it, they just gave it to me. It's great to have the two together.
What ever happened to my Transylvania Twist?

Haunted hearse-- congratulations on getting a box, and for free! It's always fun when something like that happens.

I also have the Mattel talking King Kong doll. This one has the Bobby Bond in his hand. It's the same Bobby Bond that they made for the puppet.

Here's a very cool Plas-Trix Harry Gruesome slide puzzle from the collection of Monolith:

I like Horrible Horace!

Here are some more pictures of these Plas-Trix Monster Puzzles that I found on the net:

Evidently these Plas-Trix Monster Puzzles were produced in at least three different colours - green, blue and black. And they were attached to cards of at least two different colours - red and orange.

There was also at least one subsequent production run and re-release after the initial one:

Note the absence of the 29 cent price plus the change in the ordering of the pictures on the re-issue. The fine print at the bottom reveals that the production and printing of the earlier ones was in the States sometime before 1 July 1963 when zip codes were introduced but that production was subsequently moved to Hong Kong.
