To be honest, h.h., my home was burgled/burglarized in 2012. A vast majority of my collection, gone. However, through the years I have managed to locate and purchase many collectibles I once owned.
Other than that......I buy mostly vinyl, bluray, vhs and 1-sheets.

Oh, that is miserable.  So sad to hear, even 5 years after the fact.

I hope they are doing at least as twice as much time as it took you to assemble your collection.

Hopefully. But, who knows. When it happened, I was wishing and thinking of the most gruesome, horrible acts apon them.
A combination of movie scenes from Deliverance to Death Wish to I Spit on Your Grave......and finally Cannibal Holocaust.

Five years later, the whole ordeal still bothers me. But, I dId manage to score collectibles in better condition, than the items I originally had. So....that's a plus.

Sorry, mars.

I'm glad you've been successful in re-purchasing many of the collectibles you owned. I applaud your positive attitude about collecting after such a terrible event.

I'm not religious, but I do hope there is some system of punishment/reward for the way people treat others during their lifetimes. A thief who steals items which are held dear to someone else should suffer greatly for the pain they caused.

Thank you, H.H., and Monsters For Sale for the kind words.
Moving foward is always the best plan. Honesty, as I become older, I need less. There was WAY too much in my collection at the time. I think I have narrowed my collection down to a crawl.

In the near future, I will being selling. Keeping the vintage Monster goodies, selling the newer collectibles. These days, collecting VHS, bluray, Laser Disc , DVD and Vinyl is way more fun, than collecting five thousand versions of Jason, Frankenstein's Monster or KISS figures.

Still......I do enjoy an occasional Universal Monster figure.

I'm sorry to hear this, Mars. I'm not a forgiving person and would probably throw in a few Saw (1-7) , and Hostel 1&2 in the mix. That happened to a friend of mine who had a glorious original vinyl collection (everything we like, original pressings). He went from store to store looking for them and found a lot of them at O.C. record store, Vinyl Solution.  The guy was caught and is doing time now. My buddy would have preferred to administer his own brand of justice, though.

Thank you, Mord. Yeah....I was pretty pissed, and with my sick and twisted mind, well, I was hoping for the worse to those thiefs. OmS! When one has thoughts as I did. There are certain people who obviously disagree. I did move foward as time went by. But.....maybe, just maybe those f***s who stole my stuff, are in jail or prison.

It's tough to lose the hate, but it's best to move past it as soon as possible. It ultimately just hurts the hater. Good to see you've moved on.  :)

I agree with you about trimming down the collection, especially the newer stuff you just got caught up in buying and discovered you really didn't want that much anyway. I have a basement full of newer comics and action figures I'll be selling over the years to supplement my income. I don't understand the mania of people wanting 100 different versions of the same figure either, but I defend their freedom to collect what they want to even if I wouldn't do it myself. I've found that the encumbrance of too many collectibles dilutes my enjoyment of the ones that mean the most to me. As time passes you realize the things that are most important to you and gradually weed out the stuff that just gets in way.

One of my favorite films. I do have the TROMA bluray, signed by the great Lloyd Kaufman. Although, TROMA had nothing to do with the film.

It's fun stuff if you have a taste for Jean Rollin.

I'm a big fan of that atmospheric, dream-like, erotic, Eurohorror from Rollin and Franco. Some people hate it, but then some people are devoid of imagination and the ability to see qualities beyond the obvious. Even if the narrative is chaotic, or practically nonexistent, sometimes just aesthetic and imagery are enough to make a film enjoyable.
