So, what would this sub-genre be called?  If it's called "apocalyptic", I take that as "End of the world as we know it" which wouldn't be correct for some of these.

"Local Apocalypse"?  ha ha...  or "End Of My Local World"? 

"Localized Horror/Terror"?  (Sounds like a weather forecast...)

"Poisoned" as opposed to "Virus"?

Some reviewers claimed a heritage from INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS and that might be correct 'enough' in some cases, but INVASION and ANDROMEDA don't seem to be correctly related.
