Ghostbusters

Long-time fan of both movies (including the second which I think is sorely underrated and gets a lot of unfair scorn) and also love the cartoon series and the 2009 video game which essentially is the third movie in game form. Any other fans here? Both movies are among my all-time favorites and I've seen them both endlessly, so rewatchable and entertaining. They're the quintessential Horror-Comedies with just as many laughs as scares and both are infinitely quotable and have so many great moments. The Terror Dogs, library ghost, Stay Puft, Vigo, the river of slime, the Scoleri Brothers, the Statue Of Liberty, etc. both movies are so awesome.

Not excited for the reboot at all which looks to be another unnecessary remake of a classic film that didn't need it in the first place.

Hard to believe this was a year ago, time flies.

I still haven't seen the new movie, just hard to be interested in it. The first two are still timeless for me and never get old. I'll probably see the new one at some point on a whim but right now the interest just isn't there.

If you go in with the Ghostbusters (1984) expectations, you'll be disappointed; if you go in with Ghostbusters 2 expectations, you may be entertained.  I enjoyed it for the most part.

I really liked Ghostbusters as a kid. I did not like Ghostbusters 2 as a kid. At all. I recently watched it again and thought it was actually pretty good. I'm still not a huge fan of the entire last 1/3 of the movie but I liked it much more now. I still love the first Ghostbusters and I recall liking the cartoons.  I have not seen the new Ghostbusters. I think it will take it being on TV for me to see it.

I liked the "Real Ghostbusters" first season, but found the show less entertaining as the network made demands which in the end hurt the show.  The changes including softening Jeannine, and amping up Slimer, which was fine in small doses.  I liked the series "Extreme Ghostbusters", which kept both Egon and Jeanine, without overplaying Slimer.

Both of the animated shows were awesome, I even liked Extreme Ghostbusters which some fans dislike. Miss catching it every weekday morning before school, those were the days.

Speaking of animated series, wasn't a new one supposed to happen this year? Recall reading one called Ecto Force or something was planned. It's possible the disappointing performance of the 2016 film halted those plans.

I think the underperformance of Ghostbusters (2016) at the box office derailed the plans for the animated series.

Sadly, the underperformance of "Dark Shadows", derailed plans for a DVD release of "Night of Dark Shadows". I fail to understand when you have a property that has a large fanbase, that you would ignore the fans when doing a reboot.  On "Doombuggies.com", you could see how upset fans of the Haunted mansion were when it was announced that the film would be a comedy starring Eddie Murphy. Apologies to any Eddie Murphy fans who may be reading this.

That and the not very good reception it got from some fans. I still haven't seen it, though someday I'll probably see it out of a morbid curiousity if nothing else.

It was on cable for awhile. I started watching, but turned it off after 20 minutes. Too much over-the-top buffoonery. I miss the subtle sarcasm of Mr. Bill Murray. It wasn't horrible, but I could be watching the original instead.

From the trailers it seemed like it missed the mark as to what made the first two movies work. It looked so bad it didn't even come off as a parody, just a mockery.

I feel no inclination to watch the new one more than the single time.  The original is a rewatchable classic. (in my opinion)

The film was a trainwreck.

I happily accept the video game from a few years back as the true GB3. One of these days I got to play it immediately after a double bill of the first two. I loved the tie-ins to the films the game had and so much of the main cast being back for it. Really felt authentic.
