I wish they would do oat based instead of corn based.

What you need then is a Canadian Oh Henry bar:...

I bought some Canadian Oh Henry bars online.  They are much better than the American version.

Thanks!

I'm eagerly anticipating my area getting all the General Mills products out on the shelves. Between the excitement of that and my favorite cider mill opening up for the season in a few weeks I'm getting antsy!

Went to the grocery store tonight, and they've put out some of the Halloween candy. Tried to find that Monster Mash cereal, but no luck. Definitely plan on getting a few boxes of that!

You're welcome!

Here are some other uniquely Canadian sweet treats I'd strongly recommend when visiting Canada:

Nothing like Vachon Passion Flakies are sold in the United States and they are simply the best! They can be bought individually wrapped at most variety stores but buy a whole box of six in a supermarket. You won't regret it. They'll make you want to move to Canada.

As a kid I almost always bought Oh Henry bars rather than Sweet Maries because I liked the Oh Henry name better. But Sweet Maries are actually a touch sweeter and thus tastier than Oh Henrys and that's saying a lot! At 60 grams a Sweet Marie bar is a couple of grams smaller than an Oh Henry bar though. It was one of the Willard's brands that Neilson's acquired in the 1970's. Since 1996 Neilson's has been part of the Cadbury conglomerate and sadly most Neilson's chocolate products now carry the Cadbury brand name.

Get an Oh Henry too. You can of course compare it to the Sweet Marie bar.

Previously a Lowney's brand but since the 1990's Lowney's has been part of the Hershey conglomerate. Cherry Blossom is tough to find these days but is worth it! Talk about a mega dose of sweet flavour!

Once my favourite though in recent years I've found myself preferring Sweet Marie and Oh Henry. Originally Willard's Extra Big, Neilson's renamed the brand after acquiring Willard's in the 1970's. Since 1996 Neilson's has been part of the Cadbury conglomerate, but the Mr. Big chocolate bar remains truly excellent. Even a multi-national hasn't been able to screw it up.

For peppermint lovers! Not as smooth as the York Peppermint Patties, but Pep has it all over whatever else when it comes to appearance. Another one time Neilson's brand now made by Cadbury.

Walmart has their Pumpkin Cake Roll with Cream Cheese Filling for sale again.  I ordered one with a grocery delivery, but I ordered too late in the day - they were already sold out.

I'll do my usual earlier order next time.

Ymmmmmm.

Sam's Club sells Sweet Chaos Popcorns.

HALLOWEEN - Food - Popcorn - Sweet Chaos - Drizzled - Black and Orange Frosting

HALLOWEEN - Food - Popcorn - Sweet Chaos - Drizzled - Candy Corn

HALLOWEEN - Food - Popcorn - Sweet Chaos - Drizzled - Maple Brown Sugar

HALLOWEEN - Food - Popcorn - Sweet Chaos - Drizzled - Pumpkin Spice

I know, the Maple Brown Sugar variety is really a general Fall flavor.  But, if they are not too sweet, they might be pretty good and still appropriate through Thanksgiving.
