Nice shape, decent price. I'm really tempted. Thanks for posting.

I'm surprised no one's re-popped these yet considering their popularity.

That has always puzzled me too.

Uncomplicated, easy to reproduce, much sought after.  Seems like a much likelier candidate than the Aurora Gigantic Frankenstein model.

I don't mind extended runs from the original molds - but in different colors.  Like the Marxies.

But if it were a copy, I would want tell-tale differences that could not be altered so as to fake an original.

The whole thing is, whether this piece is worth $200, $500, $600, whatever, it is really no money. If you want to collect this old monster stuff, divvy up and be a player. It's not like it is a $500k sports car that no one can own. Part of the mystique is the age and rarity. It's from a different place in time. It is a relic that should be left alone. To own some look a like is just like a fart in the wind.

I knew my comment would bring the barbarians to the gate.  As King Arthur so eloquently stated in Monty Python and the Holy Grail "RUN AWAY!!" ;D

Monty Python aside, the whole reason there are collectors of this VINTAGE MONSTER stuff to begin with is this stuff was made way back when.  A product of a different era. The "Famous Monsters" years. THIS IS WHY THERE IS A VALUE AND MARKET TO IT TODAY. Please pull your head out of yee ass.

I am glad I could buy the real mccoy before I had to worry that someone might be faking what I was looking for.

To younger collectors who like this 60s Monster stuff but won't spend the money, or think we are crazy, or can't spend the money, I feel sorry for you. As collectors age, this happens in every catagory of olde toy collecting.

It started with mechanical banks, 50+ years ago.

Wow. We've been thorough this all before. I wasn't even saying someone should re-pop it. All I said was I was surprised someone hasn't by now given the popularity of the piece. Oh, and I'm a 60's monster kid, not some new kid on the block. All I can say is that your avatar is very fitting.

Mord

Whoa...there's really no need to tell a fellow UMAer to "pull your head out of yee ass" (at least Bob said "please", I guess). We can have a difference of opinion without resorting to that. Nobody is going to re-pop the Clinton Strange bucket (and if they did, I'm sure civilization would somehow survive it).

"Value" is assigned to a thing because people want it - for whatever reason.

I would like to see a quality-made repop of the Clinton bucket.

There, I said it.

Thank you for that, but nothing here is directed at anyone, specifically. Someone has to say this- there is a reason obscure things sell at a premium- whether it be comic books, model kits, marbles, classic cars, whatever it is.

To make a repop bucket head would cost thousands of dollars to make- you would need produce a steel mold. You would need to sell hundreds if not thousands of them to pay off the mold, and because no one would be willing to spend more than $10 or $15 on a repopped one, it just cannot happen, and make a profit or even break even. There are not enough people to make the undertaking worthwhile. And that's all there is to it.

I have to disagree there. If someone did a Karloff version or a re pop of this version and sold them at retail as a Halloween candy bucket they would sell out. Parents and Grand Parents would buy them up and the kids would think it was The Hulk.
