Not according to this guy.

"At the end of the three book series it is discovered that there is not enough food left for them to survive that much longer anyway. The ‘good guys’ have taken over by this time (after the creatures went through town killing everyone yada yada. So they decide to all go into hybernation hoping to wake up when there’s more of a possibility to survive! "
That's not even an ending. I'd rather have this pessimistic TV version than that.

Luckily they didn't go for a second or third season (like the ridiculous "Under the Dome").

Don't bother. I can't believe Stephen King allows them to even use his name on this. Well, I guess he is also responsible for "Maximum Overdrive".

If we want to keep talking about the show, how about talking about what bugged you about the show, what did you think were holes in logic, or didn't make sense. A lot of the things that didn't make sense earlier, did after certain things were reveled.

One thing that bugs me was that I don't think people could evolve into those creatures in a mere 2,000 years. Nobody ever explained that one to my satisfaction, if at all.

Yeah, that seemed like a rather drastic jump in devolution. A lot of the time jumping elements didn't set well with me. I liked it a lot more before it got to episode 5 (you know, the one where they "explained" what was happening).

Did anybody watch the WP "Gone" series? Kind of a nice little bonus. Had a better ending than WP.

It's on my "On Demand" menu. I'll give it a shot.

Even King would admit that the show has very little to do with the book, at this point. It has taken some really ridiculous turns.

At least the hungry monsters got fed (or shot). If you thought this ending was downbeat, don't ever watch "The Mist".

I've read The Mist a few times years back and always liked it. When I saw the ending to the movie I was WTF? Now I always turn it off when they are still driving and doing ok.

My wife and I enjoyed Wayward Pines immensely.  I wanted it to keep going.  When I 1st caught a glimpse of an 'Abby', I thought it might be a werewolf-----hey I was hoping!

I just finished binge-watching Season 1 on Hulu and really liked it. Kept me thinking and wondering where things would go all the way through (I never read the books). I was hopeful for a more uplifting ending, but still loved the series. Even though Season 2 is mostly panned, I'll likely give it a view.

Never read the book.

The end was the only thing I liked about the movie.
