The Phantom Creep

Black Sabbath - War Pigs - 1970 - Paris

Not my favorite Sabbath song but this performance blows me away. Keep your eye on Bill Ward, the drummer.  :o

Yeah, the Del-Tones are sleepwalking through that performance -- but Dick Dale ROCKS!  I know he'd been seriously ill recently, but I've heard he's doing better now -- and maybe even going back on the road..?

Too bad they didn't show more of Geezer Butler; his bass playing defies all logic.  How does he do it???  Yeah, Geezer and Bill Ward as a rhythm section...this group is goin' places!

OK, maybe not the "greatest rock performance of all time", but this is one of the coolest 3 minutes of film to ever come out of Hollywood... a great time capsule of the early rock 'n' roll era...

Bogey

Gasport

Loved that clip Bogey! I recently had my 1986 Strat refretted by the same guitar tech who recently did some work for Sean Lennon on that very same guitar John is playing in the video. CAN YOU IMAGINE?? Gives me chills just thinking about holding it! He said he opened the case and it was like a time capsule...the last person to use it was John and Sean wanted it cleaned and set up. The tech was reluctant to even disturb it and just stared at it for a couple of hours. He then realized it was his job and he had to do it. He also had some great stories about work he's done for Stevie Ray Vaughan and James Taylor.

Bogey

Here is a decent shot of most of the guitar you are talking about GP:

Also there is George's rosewood Telecaster.

Frome the web:

1968 Fender Telecaster solidbody; Serial #235594: This guitar, rosewood with a maple middle, was a gift from Fender and one of only two made, and arrived at EMI Studios one day in December, having made the trip from the U.S. in its own BBC coach seat. Used extensively on the Let It Be sessions and prominently seen and heard at the Beatles' last public performance -- the rooftop concert. After the breakup, Harrison performed a bit with Bonnie & Delaney and gave this guitar to Delaney Bramlett. In 1998 Bramlett, in what I consider an act of monumental ingratitude, offered it for auction through Bonham's but withdrew it after his asking price of $200,000 was not met. In 2003 he offered it again at a Hollywood auction, insisting that Harrison had recommended he sell it before somebody killed him for it. Ed Begley Jr., bidding for Olivia Harrison, bought it for more than $470,000, including taxes and premiums. So the fabled Rosewood Tele has come home.
