Awe, man! He was the greatest! From his many cartoon voices for WB (Junior Bear) to his classic comedy records (John and Marsha) to his classic commercials (Campbell's soup w/ tap dancing Ann Miller). He will be missed! RIP!

And let's not forget Radio, where he began, and which he loved!

Me friend Max Schmid, stalwart defender of classic radio, will be rolling one of his heartfelt tributes Sunday:

(Online, and as Stan would've liked it - on the air!)

We can't forget Mr. Freeberg's classic Prune commercials, especially this one.

He came to my grammar school, but I never saw him.

He was behind the stage, doing duty as Cecil the Six-Leg, Seasick Sea Serpent in an in-person appearance by Beany and Cecil.  I did not appreciate how special that was until years later.

(Check out the size of the microphone they hung around their necks back then.)

I suppose I like his "Green Christmas" (Christmas Dragnet) the best.  But I always liked this take on Harry Belafonte's big hit a lot:

Man, he looks like a teenager in that pic! (Probably wasn't much older than that, either.)

I like the Banana Boat record, too.  :)
