Here's my Fundimensions Giant Wasp

I had originally painted it, black/brown but it just wasn't 'popping' for me. so I decided to repaint using yellow-jacket colors. It might need a touch up and another coat of yellow in a few areas.

I added it to my other three in one diorama but haven't filled in the back of the Mantis building yet like of done with the other kits.

I always remove the people from the little plastic bases which make them stand up. It takes some patience to glue just their feet and get them to stand.

original box :)

Killer job, Cerebus! That yellow-jacket color scheme really pops.

Oh I agree! The new paint job is much more eye catching and appealing overall.

Wicked Wasp, Cerebus! He looks cool in that yellow jacket!  :)

What is the rough length/width of those dioramas?

Thanks Mike. The size of each cardboard base is roughly 6"x9". I have them mounted all in a row with some extra road, buildings and shrubbery added and the tarantula kit set the long way, so the length of my layout is 32" with all 4. Here's a pic before I added the Wasp (didn't know if I was ever going to find it but managed to nab one on eBay late last year).

Thanks for all the comments, everyone! It was fun to build these kits again after all these years. I had owned all of them in the 70's and even won an award for my build of the Scorpion kit at a local hobby shop. I got a trophy and a gift certificate to the shop. I was only 12 so it was a big deal to me :)

Cerebus, nice paint job and great display!   I just grabbed a wasp kit off of ebay today along with a sealed mantis.
both are the 75 original issue.   That box art is so much  cooler than the  reboots.   But at least I can build the reboots and keep the original intact.   except of course for the Wasp.

I didn't realize how rare that kit is.

Thanks! It was hard to tell. All the kits lined up like that must look impressive in person!  :)

Oh man, fabulous diorama! Tough to beat four giant insects rampaging through the streets of a city.

Reminds me of when my younger brother and I both entered a model build contest, little bugger won! :-D

How old were you, who sponsored the contest and what did each of you build?
