I think you guys are right that the studios are going to saturate the market. Right now I'll stick w/big 4 (Arrow, Flash, Constantine, and Gotham). I don't even think that actor looks like Supergirl. The Titans show may be interesting though.

Suicide Squad is my favorite contemporary comic book, so I'm pretty psyched. Though I'm pretty disappointed knowing the Fresh Prince is going to play Deadshot. Plus, I already like the SS cast from Arrow. It may be weird watching different actors playing the same characters. I can't think of any precedent for this---I mean you're gonna watch one guy play the Flash on TV, but another dude play him in the movie---at the same time.

Interesting , I did not realize so many Superhero shows were going to be on TV soon , Looks like Arrow will prob spawn The Atom at some point in the future

I like Gotham and saw a few more eps of Constantine & thought they were good , looking forward to anything Superman related

News on the live action Teen Titans~

"Heading the team, unsurprisingly, will be Dick Grayson. ........Dick will begin the series as Robin following a recent split with Batman, but will eventually grow into the mantle of Nightwing as he did in the comics.

...........Barbara Gordon. In this version, Barbara will be Oracle in everything but the name. According to Nerdist's report on the script, Barbara will be in a wheel-chair and operate as the Titan's information source, but she will not officially go by the Oracle moniker.
This will be Barbara's first time as a member of the Titans in any medium.

Next are Raven and Starfire,............

Finally, Hawk and Dove................"

I suspect that some of this early roster will not make it very long and either be killed off or part ways with the group leaving room for other members to join; I'm guessing this show will probably leave room for a rotating line up of heroes (much like its comic counterpart).

Constantine info~

"Rumors are hot that the series could be headed to Syfy for a second season, although neither Ryan nor showrunner Daniel Cerone seem to have any idea, with Cerone saying that those kinds of decisions, if they're being made, are being made above his pay grade in the NBC Universal office suites."

Here's the rest of the story and short interview with Matt Ryan;

NBC cancelled Constantine, but the character is joining Arrow.

Arrow is great show IMO, so I'm stoked. I really thought Matt Ryan was excellent as Constantine, so I was disappointed when they axed the show. Producers are saying this is a one time crossover, but you know that could be BS. Hopefully he sticks around and maybe CW picks up Constantine as its own show again. So many cool supernatural and horror characters---Dead Man, Swamp Thing, Andrew Bennett Vampire, Frankenstein Monster, Etrigan the Demon, The Spectre,  Zatanna---in DC universe that could be used in show like that.

Anyone watching Gotham or any of the other DC shows this season??

Gotham is pretty good, though I like the first season better so far. Only a few episodes in though.

Arrow introducing a lot more supernatural elements to show, so that's cool. Constantine prob making an appearance soon.

The Flash pretty good so far imo.

I'm gonna dvr Supergirl on Monday. We'll see how it goes.

I don't watch the other TV shows, but I did catch SUPERGIRL on the DVR, and felt like I was in chummed-up waters because the writers have so far to go in establishing her vast life-story.

This 'chumming up the waters' will indeed create an initial frenzy of interest but, after a point, my preferences will click it 'off' and decide that blessed sleep is more productive.  It is nice to see Calista although throwing up irritants-as-characters gets boring for me quickly, too.

On the other hand, I'm not sure how else these writers could proceed with this project.

I know DC is slobbery over getting their hands on the Marvel Cash Cow, but I suspect they're going to face a critical mass at some point and the sheer weight of hourly soap-operas will keep viewership from being maintained.

But what's the alternative?   "Hey - we could do a zombie series!!"   Yes... the wave of creativity proves that water always flows downhill.

I don't think her backstory is going to be a major concern, if that's what you were talking about.  In this show she has done absolutely nothing with her powers up to the point when she saves the plane; she was brought to her adoptive parents by Superman, they had full knowledge of her powers and kept her from really using them.  There is no "Smallville" to be told here.

ChristineBCW

I think her backstory still has a ways to go.  I think the opening credits - that voice-over - will keep forever announcing that she came to protect her cousin but he arrived first by many years.

And we know Episode 2 has some evil Auntie.

She apparently has a Fairy Godsister, too, and I didn't notice if Teri Hatcher was her Earth-mom, but I saw Dean Cain was her Earth-dad.  (It's probably just as well she arrived at an older age - there are rumors that Hatcher's are fake anyway.)

I wonder if Episode 3 will have the Evil Stepmother and the 3 Evil Stepsisters?  (That seems awfully familiar... hmmm... something about kryptonite slippers or something...)

zombiehorror

Her adoptive mom is played by Helen Slater, 1984's Supergirl.

ChristineBCW

Yes, of course.  Also of SMALLVILLE fame but, more importantly, the designer-wife Sandy in RUTHLESS PEOPLE.
