DVD:

Suspiria (2-Disc Special Edition)
Castle Freak

BD/DVD Combo:

Horror Express

Awesome choice HH! I pick the Horror Express blueray up a few months ago and I love it. The quality is a million times better than the old dvd version I have.

Let me ask you guys something: I'm thinking about ordering "Island of Terror" on dvd. There aren't many region 1 versions of this film. Anyone familiar with the quality of existing region 1 copies? I really dig this movie, but don't want to to watch some third-rate VHS quality movie burned onto dvd.

I love Island Of Terror and taped it off of Sci-Fi Channel "Mutant Meltdown" back in the '90s (when it was worth a damn  ;D). Later I burned it onto disc. I haven't gotten around to buying a legit DVD of it but I believe the best ones are Region 2 (and pricey). If someone does a nice Blu-ray of it with special features I'll jump on it. Until then I like the "Mutant Meltdown" version with all the original commercials.

Re: Horror Express Blu-ray/DVD Combo. Yeah, now that is a nice little package from Severin Films. Horror Express is excellent, and it's great to see it complete and sparkling like this. That film has one of the coolest musical scores ever...really hauntingly beautiful. And, it's filled with Spanish Horror regulars. It's like a B-list who's who from the Naschyverse, along with Hammer's Team Supreme Cushing and Lee, and even Telly.  It's like Hammer meets Eurohorror:)

Big score: The Reptile on dvd for $20 on ebay.

I also updated to blueray:

The Quatermass Experiment
The Omen (original of course)
Godzilla Final Wars/Tokyo SOS

Also picked up DVD "The Awakening" (1980). Haven't watched this movie since I was a kid. I can't remember if it's any good, so I want to see it again.

Love what the folks at Criterion do for films. They clean 'em up, but do not disturb the original look of the film.  Case in point, this blu of the original Godzilla (along with the U.S. release).  Fantastic and reviewd here

Also, went bluray for the original Kong with the book release:

Cool packaging on the Godzi! If I didn't already have one that I'm perfectly happy with, I'd buy it!

I did not have a copy of either so it worked out.  The extras on each are also worth every penny, especially the Godzilla.  The Kong Jackson extras are a kick as well.  Fun to hear him talk more like a fan than a director.

Awesome stuff Bogey. I already have three different DVD versions of Gojira, so I've put off upgrading to blu-ray, but maybe I should. That set looks pretty cool.

I have the KK blu-ray and I agree, with the book and extras it's pretty good value.

Indeed.  I am considering the UK set of the Universal films.  Great reviews on the Dracula and Frankenstein.  I will hold on to the Legacy Collections for the rest of the runs.  Any opinion on the upgrades here?

It is for real, however, the titles listed are DVR's from other companies, not an actual studio release. Still, this is the ONLY way they are available at the present time.
