They're just finally being open about it. People have worshipped satan for years. Worlds full of all sorts. You never know who you're standing next to on the street these days. Read some mental health statistics sometimes. It will scare you more than any horror story by Poe or Lovecraft.

I subscribe to the notions of these distinguished gentlemen. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

Lee: "I have met people who claimed to be Satanists, who claimed to be involved with black magic, who claimed that they not only knew a lot about it… But as I said, I certainly haven’t been involved and I warn all of you: never, never, never. You will not only lose your mind, you'll lose your soul."

Cushing: “I am not a 'religious' man, but I try to live by Christian ethics."

many fans are aware that he was extremely offended by The Exorcist, and even did a newspaper interview denouncing it as rubbish. Christopher Lee warned him not to see it, and explained why.

"Monsters? We're British, you know!" ;)

This is not that kind of "Memorabilia". In fact, it may violate the "no religion" claws (clause).

I'm going to move it to that "news" thread, for now.

Religious rites on private property scare me not at all. What infuriates me is taxpayers' being forced to fund religious monuments:

Quote from: Toronto Sun
Jex Blackmore, director of the Satanic Temple Detroit chapter, said temple members planned to transport the sculpture to Arkansas, where earlier this year the governor signed a bill authorizing a 10 Commandments monument on the State Capitol's grounds.

The Temple had unsuccessfully applied to have the statue placed near a 10 Commandments monument installed in 2012 on the Oklahoma State Capitol grounds. The Oklahoma Supreme Court recently ruled the 10 Commandments monument violates a section of the state constitution that bans the use of state property for the benefit of a religion.

Lawmakers in the socially conservative state responded with threats to seek the impeachment of the court's justices and pledged to push for changes to the constitution.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, a Republican, said she will keep the monument in place as the state appeals the decision.

That's a very clear violation of the constitutional provisions separating Church and State. And what further infuriates me is that the state legislators are holding themselves above the law, as if the law doesn't bind the lawmakers themselves. For laws to apply objectively to all is one of the key constitutional safeguards protecting the rights of the individual from the coercive action of the State.

Who’s wearing a dark cloak, dropping raw meat on a North Carolina playground?
I used to live not far from there in Gastonia.

Removing any religious aspects: if you throw raw meat near a playground, and there is a wooded area nearby---you will attract wildlife. They will then consider the playground a feeding area. Because there is raw meat there. What happens if the raw meat stops?  Nothing good, I suppose. :o

Apparently, it's got something to do with the "Walking the Planes" YouTube show for Magic: The Gathering.

100-year-old near extinct silent films from Golden Age found in a tip in Devon

Sadly, "The Hypnotist" (a.k.a. "London After Midnight") wasn't one of them.

It's a good day when any lost silent footage, or better condition reels are found.

When the Audience Makes the Cameras Roll
"‘Fan films’ are independently produced movies using familiar characters from iconic science-fiction and superhero franchises."

Hey, let's not forget horror, too. "House of the Wolf Man," "Tales of Dracula," "Creature," and the upcoming "Shallow Water."
