Some tunes for Unknown Primate.
« on: January 07, 2014, 01:39:35 AM »
Mark liked the music of Gordon Lightfoot.

A couple of years ago, while recuperating from a heart attack, Mark posted two of his favorite Lightfoot songs.

Gordon Lightfoot - The house you live in(Original Studio Recording).wmv

To those two I'd like to add the following.
Just a little concert for Unknown Primate.

Gordon Lightfoot - Early morning rain(Original Studio Recording).wmv

Gordon Lightfoot - Don Quixote

Gordon Lightfoot - Song For A Winter's Night

Thanks for starting this musical memorial.  I know that music can help you heal, and there are some people around here that this will touch.  I thought of the word "groovy" today, and my eyes filled up with tears.  This is so very thoughtful  :)

I heard Barroom Hero this weekend and I turned it up pretty darn loud (after I rolled up my car windows) and shouted out the "OI, OI,OI", parts, thinking about U.P.! He loved him some DKM, and was tickled when I put some pics of them on Facebook.  He was all about music!   :)

Fester- You know we sing loud, sing proud!  Mark had excellent taste in music- that's for sure! We talked about all sorts of artists & songs, and he knew every member of every band he listened to! I would have loved to have seen Mark at a DKM show!! I bet he would have out-sung everyone in the crowd!

I have no idea if Mark liked ELO, but I think of him when I hear "Mr. Blue Sky".  Particularly the followng lyrics:
Hey there, Mr. Blue
We're so pleased to be with you
Look around, see what you do
Everybody smiles at you

Mark was such a special person.  He made you feel like you counted.  He made you feel like you were doing him a favor taking time to speak with him... and all along it was really the other way around.

I still miss him. Never met him in person but he just seemed like such a genuine person. I am glad to have known him even if it was only by posting.
