Mind-boggling! This stuff is film set-ready! When Guillermo del Toro remakes "Frankenstein," you should be building the machinery!

Thanks Shadowbat69,ActionJax,Starvas and Count_Zirock

I do have other life size figures planned when this is finished but I don't know if I'll do such elaborate dioramas. Some will be Universal Monsters, some Hammer characters and some original designs.I would love to do a Creature from the Black Lagoon for my back yard. ;D

I would love to work for Guillermo del Toro on any of his projects Count,he's one of my favourite directors.

Another quick update, finally managed to spend a couple of hours on the frankenstein sculpt today.Still needs a lot more work.Just roughed in some hair to see if the head shape is correct. The hair will be removed when I mould the bust.

Looks like I might get busy on another film soon which will be filmed in Melbourne (I live in Sydney) so I might have to put this project on hold for a bit,DOH! :( The good news is when I finish I'll be able to devote a lot more time to this project.I'll know next week if it happens or not.

Thanks again for you kind comments.

Frankie is look great!  Looks like you're well on your way to capturing it.

Well, I certainly wish you all the best and hope you get the film job.  All of us here will just have to find something else to occupy our time while your off "working" :)

But hurry back.  I'm living vicariously through your work. :)

Cheers mate!

Thanks ActionJax, The sculpt is getting there I think. It looks more like Karloff in person than it does in photos for some reason.

Thanks Mord, I've been told I can be a little obsessive when I do things.

I thought I'd start making some items for the table.I want to make the electrical devices you see on the far left and right on the table in the photo as well as the glass container Dr Frankenstein and Dr Pretorius are looking at.The device on the left will have a light chaser circuit and the device on the right will either have a small Jacobs Ladder or a glowing light. The container seems the easiest to make so I started with that.I need to watch Bride again to see whats in the jar.Anyone have any idea or suggestions of what to put in there?

I found a large glass bowl at a Thrift store and bought some Premium Belgian Cider with Elderflower and lime (4% alcohol  ;D) once I scoffed I mean disposed of the liquid I cut the bottles to form the glassware you see on top of the bowl.

Two of the bottles cracked when trying to cut them so I'll have to drink I mean buy more Cider to replace them.

I would like to put some large anatomical drawings on the tabletop does anyone know where I can download some high res pics?

Hey Doc,
I might have some drawings that would work. Send an email to futura55(*at*)msn.com with your email and I'll send them on!

Thanks Mord  Hmmmm maybe I suffer from OCD.

Thanks for the drawings Westbatman they will come in handy.

Not much of an update I'm packing for my job in Melbourne so haven't had much time.I started looking through my chemistry glassware collection and found a few pieces that are similar to what appears in Bride.I might use the bell jar on the right for the electrical device with the insulators and install a light in it.I have enough chemistry glassware to do a nice Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde diorama, may have to think about that. The little ruler on the bottom of the pic is 150mm (6") long.

I may not be posting much on this build until I get back but will be checking in everyday.

Thanks again for the comments guys if you come up with any cool ideas let me know.

Just wanted to add a little something , I love the fact that you're bringing this to life in living color !! The project is amazing, I can't wait to see the completed Karloff. You seem to be dead on with the facial construction .The key will be the indent in the right cheek were his bridge was removed to give him the more hollow look. But then you'd know that, as its  apparent you're  a perfectionist LOL.  I have already shown  the work to several friends who are amazed. Keep up the good work!

Hope all is well.  Still "patiently" waiting for a progress report on this project.

Ok, maybe I'm not that patient. :)

I'm just bumping this thread to the top.

Just a bump
