I take a look at Daniel Roebuck's new hodgepodge stew of classic horror collecting short films, "Dr. Shocker's Vault of Horror," in my Louisville Halloween website column. Anybody else seen it yet?

I'm watching it now and enjoying it.  I recommend if you don't have a copy to get one.

I was thrilled to see that the short movie How My Dad Killed Dracula is included in the special features of the DVD! I first saw that movie at the BoneBat Film Festival a few years ago, and LOVED IT!

I think Dan did something really great here for monster kids and collectors. There are some great extras in it, but the main piece is our story. It explains why we do what we do, and what it means to us. Lugosi's granddaughter attended the premiere and told him she never understood WHY people love this stuff so much, as opposed to being into something else, sports or whatever.  She said that she finally understood.

If you have a spouse or friend or family member who doesn't understand your monster obsession, you need to get this and show it to them. It's a love letter from monster kids to the world. I think it's essential.

I've already watched my dvd twice, and I giggled knowingly each viewing! Between this dvd & the UMA, I feel like I really belong to a group of "kids" that I can relate to!!   :)    I will probably never meet or hang out with most of my fellow Monster Nerds, but it's such a warm & delightful feeling to know you're not alone.  My collection isn't very big or vintage, but I smile with monster room- pride when I watch the movie.

I received my copy yesterday and watched it last night. I thought is was absolutely wonderful. This is the kind of DVD I've always wanted to buy - put it in and see some real monster kids discussing monster toys all while showing said monster toys. Simple and effective.

Thanks, Dan, for such a fangtastic bit of filmmaking!

Hi Dan

I sent you a PM awhile ago asking how much it would cost to send the dvd to the UK, not sure if you received the message or you have been too busy. Would love to get the 'Dr.Shocker's Vault of Horror' sometime.

So sorry, best to find me directly as I do not see these PMs. My apology for that. Have you tried to order one thru the website? does it preclude shipping to England. If so write back on here and we'll get it to you.

I probably missed it somewhere, but where was the Captain Company segment filmed, Dan?

I saw this DVD and was on the edge about purchasing it.  But after hearing all these awesome reviews, I'm definitely buying a copy!

Hi Dan

Thanks for your reply. I did go to the website awhile ago but I couldn't see any postage rates for shipping to England, I only saw a rate for USA. I don't have enough money in my Paypal account at the moment but as soon as I do I'll contact you again.
