This Might Be A Dumb Jiggler Question
« on: November 05, 2013, 11:59:38 PM »
I have the Universal Monster jigglers sold at TRU a couple of Halloweens ago.  As I work on expanding my Universal Room I am picking up things to help display some of my collectables.  right now I have my jigglers ty-wrapped to some plastic shelves. It is not the best way I know and the ty-wraps are loose.  I have found some movie reel hooks which I can hang on the wall and hang them off the hooks from the string. The question is the jigglers are a little sticky and are dusty and in need of cleaning. Especially Dracula because of the cape.  Do you clean them in soapy water?  I don't want to ruin the paint job. I think Windex would probably be a bad idea. How do you get the dust off yours?

Dang tacky jigglers! I'd imagine warm water and a very mild cleanser. What's the best way to display these?

I found in Christmas Tree Shops a package of 3 hooks. One is a movie reel, one is a camera and one is a clapboard. I figured hanging them of the hooks is a good way to display them. Right now mine are ty- wrapped to one of my shelves and even though loosely strapped they are a little bent and dusty. The hooks were only $6.00.

I bought the Imperial toy UM jigglers and jiggler keychain figures in 2005. (never did find the Bride keychain though, damn.) I left them all on card (they are kinda zip-tied onto a cardboard card with no plastic bubble) and hung them up. I have had two of the large jigglers begin to crack and split across their torsos, the Creature and the Wolfman. Wolfman actually spilled tiny beads all over my monster shelf. I used to dust mine off or wiped them with a damp rag occasionally, but I don't touch mine for any reason now, dusty or not, for fear of further compromising the rubber.

Not my pics random google images

Apparently they were available off of a card as well, but I never saw any for sale that way.

You should poly bag your jigglers to keep the dust off. Comic bags work good.

The fact they are tacky would make me worry about displaying them in the open once they have been cleaned. You may want to reconsider your display options with these guys. Perhaps a case or a cabinet would be a better idea. I would be afraid that the dust would set in and at some point, never wash off.

It sounds a little weird, but how about displaying jigglers in comic bags with backing boards. You could stand them up that way, or even store them in comic boxes. It would keep the dust off.

All of mine were off the card and just thrown in a box at TRU.  Good advice everyone. Thanks. I guess I will find some other use for those hooks.

They were available on a card, or "loose" with a tag.

"Tacky", or "sticky"?

"Tacky", or "sticky"?
It all depended on the night, the weather and the activity involved.
