Truly high grade copy of Action #1, 9.8 or better. CGC it and sell it. Retire and buy all the monster stuff I lust after but don't yet own. 8)

Yes, that's what I would do as well.

If, however, it was an item strictly for personal delight purposes and I was prohibited from selling it, I'd be making my decision on the basis of personal nostalgia as well as current scarcity. A Mad, Mad, Mad Scientist Laboratory would therefore be my pick:

An MPC Haunted Hulk, a Standard Plastics Creature-Wolfman wallet and some of the Revell "Big Daddy" T-Shirt Iron-On transfers would be other items I'd consider.

Action #1? I think we have a winner!

The Mad Scientist Lab is a great choice - but where the heck did you find them? Were they in the "science" section with the telescopes and chem sets? Or in with the games? I bet stores weren't sure just what section to put them in...

For emotional purposes I'd like picking up one of these:

It was a cool, unexpected birthday present one year.

Hasn't Detective 27 been reeling in Action 1 for a bit now?

First on my list would be the 1963 Hasbro pencil color by number Wolf Man, Frankenstein or Dracula sets. If they weren't there at the moment I stepped out of the time machine, I'd grab one of the Hasbro Mummy, Creature or Phantom Of The Opera mystery games.

That's a cool item. In the days of Toy Shop Magazine I found one of those for sale for $250 MIB....called the seller and I was the first call! Told em I was at work and would call them again in the evening. By the time I got off work the whole world had called the seller informing them of what the Ideal Batbelt was really worth.....From what I could get out of the seller, a big-time collector (and dentist) flew in the next day and gave them $1,000 cash. Bummer. I still send all the worst of karma to that dentist whenever I think of it. Bitter? Heck no....but if I had that fella in a chair, mouth open, and me with pliers in my hand.......well.

I found it in a hobby shop on Seven Mile Road in Detroit but it was also heavily advertised in Famous Monsters of Filmland magazine.

Yes. With the popularity of Batman these days, the two comics are very close in price now.

All solid choices since they're all hard as nails to find these days.

A set of the three small My Pet Monster plush puppets. I'd love to have them again but they're fairly expensive on eBay most of the time. I haven't been lucky enough to catch any for cheap yet. But then, I've only been using eBay for a couple months. I do have one of them that I purchased long ago but I want the other two. He's lonely dammit!

There was a piece of Jack Kirby original art on display at a Chicago ComicCon back around '79 or so. A large promo piece with the major Marvel heroes in iconic leaping-at-the-viewer poses. $200.00.  I couldn't come up with the dough at the time.  If I could only go back and get that....

But if it has to be a commercially produced item -- then I might go for the Popeye/Thimble Theater figure paint set seen in the top photo here:
