Thanks for the Heads up.. cant wait to see what the bonus material is.
Wonderful Zach portrait , JG... You really captured his body language and spirit! Not an easy thing to do...Leaving Zach out in the cold on this deal would be unforgivable.
I'm thinkin' the same thing, Count.
Well, that's why i'm hoping they do the right thing beforehand...On the other hand, there are times i truly believe Zach will outlive us all!
It's those embalming fluid cocktails he imbibes- "Nothing works quick like the lowdown kick you get from formaldehyde"...Formaldehyde, track 7 on the Dead Man's Ball CD by somebody named Mike Gilks....hmmm, wonder who that is... I think that guy was tarred, feathered and run out of town on a rail for ''grave robbing the other night in the cemetery by the pale moonlight''...
Hello all...This is in response to some of Gasport's posts as well as a few others regarding speculation about Zach and Horrible Horror. I was on the production team for both Horrible Horror and the unreleased Bela Lugosi's Greatest Hits.First, as far as Zach not being paid for any current or past release of HORRIBLE HORROR, this is COMPLETELY INCORRECT...Sandy Oliveri, who is a huge fan of Zacherley, made sure Zach was well paid back in 1986, AND that Zach ALSO had a perpetual deal in place in the original contract to share in the royalties as long as HORRIBLE HORROR is sold...This includes not only the original GOODTIMES release, but ANY further exploitaion at all, including this new LEGEND Special Edition. Zach is automatically entitled to quarterly sales statements and payments as he was during the original release in the 80's and 90's. Zach was notified by phone of the release of the new HH Special Edition a number of times in both August and September, in fact, a sample copy of the DVD was recently sent to him. If Zach told anyone otherwise, he probably just didn't remember and/or was having a bad day...I understand for his age he DOES remember quite well most of the time, but he WILL turn 95 on September 26th. Regarding a conversation mentioned in a post about a supposed scene in Bela Lugosi's Greatest Hits, it was stated: "I distinctly remember a phone conversation with Zach back when he was filming this and he told me there were lots of new/old film clips Oliveri had discovered. One of which was of Lugosi's casket being lowered into the grave. He said; ''they wanted to insert me popping out from behind the headstone and say something really rude, but i refused to do it!'' - Well, there is NO such film footage of Lugosi's casket being lowered into the ground or anything like that...And the last thing ANYONE on the production team or crew would do is have Zach say anything rude about Bela or anyone for that matter...Perhaps this conversation was regarding some other project Zach was involved with in the 90's or early 2000's?Anyway, in further response to another post, HORRIBLE HORROR was originally produced by Sandy Oliveri's company, MOVIETIME INC. in a joint venture with BERGMAN-HARRIS PRODUCTIONS. Paul Harris was co-producer with Sandy Oliveri, and David Bergman was director of the original Zach segments in the studio...Also of note, David Bergman also directed a number of comedy specials featuring Cheech and Chong and Andrew Dice Clay among others. In the meantime, hope you all get a kick out of Horrible Horror - The Special Edition.
