I just ordered 2 copies, which qualified for free shipping. A little under 28 bucks all together. Back in '86 the initial VHS release [i bought it at Caldor's!] was my first realization that my childhood hero was still around and then 2 years later, i finally met him at a local personal appearance which eventually led to 2 CD collaborations and a personal friendship spanning ALMOST 25 years! For me Horrible Horror will always be the catalyst that started it all. Cannot WAIT to watch this!!

About time! My Goodtimes VHS gave up the ghost pretty quick back in the late '80s. It was in the dreaded SLP mode, and I watched the crap out of it, so it didn't last very long. Almost all of those VHS copies have been goners for years.

I noticed the box cover lists five extras. I can't wait to find out what they are.

BTW Gasport, those CDs you did with Zach are great! I listen to mine quite a bit, especially around Halloween. tynhrt

I got the VHS signed by Zach way back when.

Little known fact: Zacherley  did a second program for this producer Sandy Oliveri. It has never been released . It was called "Bela Lugosi's Greatest Hits " and featured mostly Lugosi clips hosted by Zach. A friend of mine saw the raw footage and told me it's some of Zach's best work. Let's hope this gets released as well.

Why do I smell Lugosi Jr as being the reason this remains unreleased?

You're absolutely right, HH! Almost 30 year old VHS tape combined with being recorded on the slow speed makes for a visual clarity similar to old porn...not to mention the audio hissing you have to put up with. I,too wore out my original tape. Zach was kind enough to burn me a DVD copy from his tape some years ago , so at least i've been able to watch it when i want.  The friend who alerted me about the new release recently wrote me saying Amazon now says to expect a 1-3 week wait for delivery!... WTF!!!

Oh well,...i've gone this long. Guess a few more weeks won't kill me. Thanks also, HH for the kind words regarding my work w/Zach. Still have a hard time realizing it all actually happened. Truly a monster kid's dream come true!

Thank you for posting this! (Well, I say, "Thank you!" but I suspect my wallet is saying something else.)

I grew up a military brat in the 80s in places like Montana and Wyoming, so we didn't have horror hosts or anything like that growing up (how I managed to survive, I have no idea!). I had no idea who Zacherley was, so I was confused when my little brother gave me this VHS for Christmas one year. I watched that tape over and over, and loved it. I don't know what happened to that tape over the years, but I'll definitely be ordered the DVD right after payday!

I re -read the Amazon description of Horrible Horroers . It appears the program is greatly expanded with many new Zacherley break-ins, according to producer Sandy Oliveri. I would guess that Oliveri has added some or all of the footage of Zach which was shot for the Bela Lugosi project. Unless Zach shot new footage which is probably not likely. Lots of  non - Zach bonus material as well . The 2 DVD set runs 5 Hours!! Halloween this year will be a lot of fun!

This is wonderful news! I have a decent DVD boot that I traded with another collector for but I can't wait to get my copy of this new release with all the added content. Wow, this is going to be a great Halloween! tynhrt

Just ordered Horrible Horror and the 3 new Movies4U releases of HTF classic sci-fi and horror from Amazon (free shipping). :)

Now Amazon says to expect delivery Sept. 30th...I, too am wondering if the bonus stuff includes the bits he did for Dracula's Greatest Hits.  I distinctly remember a phone conversation with Zach back when he was filming this and he told me there were lots of new/old film clips Oliveri had discovered. One of which was of Lugosi's casket being lowered into the grave. He said; ''they wanted to insert me popping out from behind the headstone and say something really rude, but  i refused to do it!''

One other thing i have just heard from a friend who spoke with Zach the other day is that he had no idea that HH was being released again. Which means they didn't pay him or get his permission to do so. I'm hoping they redeem themselves and correct this blatant oversight soon.  When his Cameo Parkway songs were recently re-released, the people from ABKO [they own the rights] not only contacted him numerous times before production began, but also cut him a check AND gave him a case of copies of the product. THIS is how something like this SHOULD be done.

That's for sure! Oh man, I would hate to order this, knowing that Zach was being burned. I won't place my order until I hear that he's being compensated.

EDIT: This statement is on the Product Description on Amazon:
"HORRIBLE HORROR, THE SPECIAL EDITION is extended by almost an hour, plus over 2 hours of Bonus Extras, almost 5 hours in all! This LEGEND FILMS release includes more movies and many coveted Zacherley cut ins utilized for the first time. I hope you enjoy it." --Sandy Oliveri, Producer.
