Here is a photo from 2007 showing my genuine Coffin Joe "fingernail" alongside my real fingernails. This resin nail is from the set of Embodiment of Evil. It is one of the nails Coffin Joe wears in the film.




I grew my real nails for about nine months, until they were about the same size as the fake one in this picture. I cut them off in summer of 2008. My nails have been short ever since.

Seriously though, I never realized his were fake, I met him at Chiller many years ago and I thought the nails were real. Very cool that you have one of his for comparison.

He had real nails from about 1970 through the 90s. In his 60s films and in Embodiment of Evil, he wears fake nails. So he probably had real nails when you met him. He grew the nails mostly for public appearances.
