Monarch Models - Gorgo
« on: May 15, 2013, 08:26:53 PM »
Does anyone know what happened to Monarch Models and their Gorgo plastic model release? There are no updates on the website. I'll be severely dissappointed if this never comes out. It looked fantastic!

If Monarch Models has folded, I hope that one of the other kit companies will consider purchasing the rights/molds and releasing this.

I've read a number of different reasons why it's been delayed. Everything from production problems overseas to the instruction sheet artist breaking his arm! MIM is rarely ever a reliable source for news, but let's all hope they're close. I've really been looking forward to this one. If it comes out as good as their Nosferatu and Ghost of Castelmare, the wait will have been well worth it.

I heard from Scott McKillop recently, and he said it should be on the shelves this fall.  Let's keep our fingers crossed.

oh, that's great, I knew this was the right place to ask the question :) I haven't seen anything change on their website in 6 months, so I thought it might be dead in the water. Their kits are fantastic! and at a price I can afford. :D

Besides, building plastic kits reminds me of the old days when I would spend hours doing the Aurora Kits - mid 1970's. I used to order every kit from the back of Famous Monsters and had no Idea their base was in West Hempstead, only 2 towns away from me (about 5 miles). Missed opportunity to maybe tour the facility :(  but I was only 8 or 9.

I didn't say you had to buy it from them. Just what they are saying the street date is. Looks like they're off by 3 months, anyway, according to Wolfman.

One day this bad girl will be released. Then I will buy 2. One to build, and one to put up. My dad will buy 2 as well for the same reason. Patience is a virtue at this point. Waiting for the pay-off.

Gorgo ships from Hong Kong Next week. However long it takes to get here from there is the OFFICIAL waiting period. They are pressed, packed, and on a boat folks. THIS IS ACCORDING TO THE OWNER OF MONARCH. The Glow Nosferatu should be in Canadian stores as of next week. Monarch is back on the move.
