Mani-Yack Posters ?
« on: December 10, 2007, 11:02:35 AM »
Has anyone ever seen these poster versions of the Mani-Yack iron-on art? Do you have any? How big is "Giant"?

Hey Mike,

Which magazine is that from?  The only Mani-Yak poster I knew of before your post is the promotional poster which sold on ebay a few years back.

I saw one of those on the net not long ago. I assumed they were something well-known, if new to me.

Wish I'd saved the image!

I don't believe from the image I saw that they were bigger than a spiral notebook front.

Mike, cool post. Never heard of this before. As Shannon asked .. "what mag did that come from"?

And BTW Shannon, any chance of seeing a pic of that promotional poster that slipped under my radar?

The ad is from HORROR MONSTERS #9.

So much for GIANT!

Yeah--the Derby CT address on the coupon points to a Charlton mag. Probably trying to develop their own "Captain Company."

And the "Dept. HM-9" tells you exactly which one.

I ran across it, again today, in the UMA YG archives. Been in there since 2003.

There were also some stickers using the Mani-Yack art.

Hey Terry,

The photo Mike posted is the one I have, just photo shopped to obscure the missing area from the bottom right hand corner (which I'll bet was the retail price).  I'm pretty sure you posted that for me, as I was often in the habit of sending you either photos or links to post because I didn't want it to look like I owned the items once they were in the archive.  The funny thing about that now is that I actually do own several of the actual items pictured.

Also, I'm pretty sure the examples ye ole' Drunken Severed Head (Max, correct?) saw which were notebook size are the transfers themselves, not the posters.  Anyone ever have or even see - in person or photograph - the posters?

Possible? They do sell them loose, but all the loose ones I've seen are always referred to as iron-ons.

LOL! There's so much stuff laying around everywhere that half the time I don't even know what we have and what we don't! That will change soon enough as we eventually get all the goodies moved over here.

Shannon, my firend. Your right. We've exchanged a few photos in our day. As mentioned, it's hard not only to remember what we have, but from whom we received it from! Thanks for the reminder! And no, can't say I've ever seen a pic of the Mani-Yack posters anywhere. Can anyone even confirm their existence? Perhaps they never even went into production?
