I hope this is a way you earn a good wage, too - something like that needs to be rewarded!

Understand that Criss is finding (no mean feat) images of these original paintings on the web and not converting a VHS box.

Thank you Mike and also Christine understand I'm only finding these to share with everyone for their enjoyment. I have no intention of profiting from any of this. About a year ago I messaged universalclips.com about one of these images and they wanted me to pay a $500 license fee to use the picture so I sadly struck out there. Whichever pics I have shown here are pics I've managed to discover on my own accord on the web.

And speaking of which, is there a link (not a hyperlink) between the images, or does each seem to be posted by one guy and another as a one off sharing of something they found interesting. I'm just sort of amazed that there are so many of these paintings on the web. It's not like pulp art, or comic art where there's a large following.

Most of the one's I posted last year I found on a site called customaniacs.org. However there have been others I've found elsewhere. The Invisible Man artwork was the profile pic on the Invisible Man Facebook page. The A&C Monster artworks I found on movieposterdb.com. The Black Cat and The Raven artworks I found on horrortalk.com. Island of Lost Souls I found through a Portuguese movie site. Murders in the Rue Morgue I think was from Flikr. However where I uploaded them originally and posted the link here I guess was hyperlinked since the links broke after time as you recall. Not sure how that works. I have a yuku account as well since I also post on Classic Horror Film Board and I've uploaded them in my photo section there and shared the links to those here and so far they havent broke. I also have a OneDrive account where I've uploaded them and shared them here since you'll be able to see them at their full resolution there.

(I understood that these images weren't objects for sale, or profiteering.  What I meant, in my 'best wishes' for Criss was that the talent, patience and skill to produce that quality of work can be translated onto other artistic pursuits worthy of "making a living."  I was hoping Criss actually used his obvious skills for that.  Patience is not just a virtue - in Art Restoration companies, it's a salary.)

So now I'm wondering, where did all those people get the images? How did they pry them loose from Universal's archives? Such are the mysteries of the internet, I guess!

As for broken links, you gotta put stuff in your own space if you want it to stay. You never know when the other guy will yank the pic.

Your guess is as good as mine Mikey. I even messaged the gentleman who had them posted at customaniacs and asked where he had found them and if he had others. The most I got was if he had the rest he'd have them posted.

Well that is comforting, at least.   ;D

This is mostly for those new to this thread but it'll be a refresher to those who have visited before which I'm sure most of you have. Anyways below I have posted the artworks yet again but I decided to do something a bit different this time. Along with the artwork I have posted its corresponding VHS cover. While my main focus here is to find the artworks for the films that bore the 'Classic Collection' banner on its VHS cover (hence the thread's title), I've also shared artworks to others such as the A&C Monster films and the artworks to other Universal Horror films. For the section for artworks I've yet to find I just posted its VHS cover.

Great collection.  The webbing over DRACULA'S DAUGHTER's head is so compelling, but there's so much intricacies on all of these works of art.

Unfortunately, this listing of artworks makes me scramble thru our collection and also looking up DVD availability for these.  JUNGLE WOMAN, JUNGLE CAPTIVE, CAPTIVE WILD WOMAN and JUNGLE this and that.  I fear I've let a few of these slip thru the cracks.  So many missing films, suddenly!

About the only classic era Universal horror/sci-fi movies that haven't been released on DVD (including the DVD-R "Vault" releases) are:

The Jungle Captive (1945)
The Cat Creeps (1946)
The Spider Woman Strikes Back (1946)
Curse of the Undead (1959)
and the lost 1930 The Cat Creeps

Got some new stuff here. None are from the Classic Collection but since I had posted other non-CC artworks prior I figured these would fit. First is the artwork for The Invisible Ray. Next are a few from Universal's '50s SciFi Collection.

The Invisible Ray (1936)

It Came From Outer Space (1953)

This Island Earth (1955)

Tarantula (1955)

The Mole People (1956)

The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

The Monolith Monsters (1957)

The Monster on the Campus (1958)
