Compared to this pic:I don't think it looks bulky at all.

Compared to this one it does... not much, but a little bulky.

My point was that clothing always looks bulky on 1/9th scale figures...even fur suits.

Part of the reason for that is that most 1/9-scale figure bodies are for superheroes, and are therefore "bulked up." I've seen a few 12" figures where the clothes weren't removable, and were sewn onto the bodies. This gave them an ultra-slim appearance. It's a good look for vampire figures (unless they also sparkle.)

I actually got these a few months ago, as late Christmas gifts. Character Options' 1/18-scale "Doctor Who" Series 3 action figures. The Eleventh Doctor (in Green Coat) and Amy Pond. However, I only got around to photographing them today. They're pictured with the 1/18-scale lighted Spin & Fly TARDIS, against an Entertainment Earth Action Stage Diorama Backdrop (#4, The Northern Castle).Sorry the pix are a bit fuzzy, but my new phone has an even crappier camera than my old one. Also, yes, that's the wrong TARDIS interior for Amy. (It's from "The Snowmen," the first Christmas special after Amy & Rory's departure in "The Angels Take Manhattan." The Doctor's green coat is correct, however. It was first seen in "A Town Called Mercy.")

I dont believe the design is silly. I certainly think the figure is perfect. We always clamor for an original design....then when we see a picture where we get one....we complain. Mostly because (whether we wish to believe it or not) is because it doesnt look like a traditional creepy.

Lovecraft beasties certainly are original in their look...but they hardly ever  get produced.t everytime they do they sell...so i dont get it.

Yeti is probably sold out form Martin were I to hazard a guess.

As for never knowing exactly what the Hammer Yeti looks like....wrong. This figure is a masterpiece.

and then there's this neat-o little reference given to us by one of our resident Yeti-Heads, Ray...

Considering no one else on planet earth has even bothered to make anything from this film, for half a century, and the film languishes is "re-run obscurity purgatory" for the majority of the i-phone obsessed public....anything but heaps of praise for this figure is hopelessly inadequate.

I don't think he meant the design was silly, so to speak, just seeing an Abraham Lincoln looking figure as a Yeti does make one smile. I can compare it to this. My favorite Godzilla look is the Godzilla 1962 from King Kong vs Godzilla. That Godzilla has huge floppy feet, thunder thighs, a gut, dopey looking eyes and a sort of silly looking face. Yet, to most collectors, including myself, it will always be considered Godzilla's greatest look.

Seeing The Abominable Snowman made me appreciate this figure much more. Also, now that I have it and have been looking at it for the last 24 hours. I really like it.
As far as the Yeti being sold out, I would image that happened almost immediately. I don't know if the figures are shipped out in order of when someone places their order. However, I think I placed mine around 48 hours after it was released and I have number 60. I am curious as to if these are going to hit ebay and what prices they are going to fetch. I have a feeling that many private colloectors purchased this figure and vendors might not have been able to scoop up as many as they normally would have.

That's exactly right Horrorman. I couldn't have said it better myself. I was going to post and use the very same Godzilla analogy myself but since the replies to my comment seemed to be dying down I let it go. Thanks for setting the record straight. :)

The Yeti has been sold out for a while, I'm pretty sure. There was so much buzz over this piece, that I'm sure it was an instant sell out. It not only appealed to Hammer fans like myself, but to fans of the Yeti in general.

And just for the record I love Hammer films. When I was a kid seeing Frankenstein (Curse of) and Dracula (Horror of) in living color for the first time was mind blowing. Was a fan ever since. Hopefully I'll get a chance to see "The Abominable Snowman". People are asking ridiculous prices for the old DVD though.

I watched it on YouTube. Also, speaking of ridiculous prices, if the dvd is high priced, image this figure.

If you have an all region player, you can get a R2 much cheaper.

I'll check it out on YouTube then. Thanks for the tip.

I noticed that but I don't have a region free player. However, after doing a little research it looks like there is free software available that allows you to play any region coded DVD on your PC.  :)

Trust me, Glenn, it's well worth it. Not only are there movies that are only available in other countries, but there are special editions & features that are unique to those regions (not to mention some killer prices).

Just picked up this whole outfit today on eBay for $35 and free shipping!! Couldn't believe the price. It includes a TOTS Dr. Tongue mask, some really nice looking zombie hands, a bloody jump suit (in my size) and a bottle of blood. The mask alone was worth the price. I'll post my own pics when it arrives.  :)

EDIT: Upon further examination of the pictures that the seller posted and comparing it to other photos online it looks like the mask is actually a "Bump in the Night Dr. Tongue" mask which I'm fine with as Chuck Jarmin did some of the best "Day of the Dead" masks including his "Bub". In both cases his "Day" masks are more movie accurate than TOTS.
