Hep- That garland is so jolly! I love the idea of hanging bulbs from garland....

The lights aren't actually hanging from the garland. The garland is entwined around the wire to which the lights are attached! It was The MAN's idea seven years ago. Ordinary Xmas tree decorations though can be hung from a garland which we may do if we can find the right garland(s).

I like how there's so much space for all the monster goodies below the apron!

Here are a few pictures from previous years of our Xmas tree:

Here's Deuce beside it:

The tree is a fiber optic one but the motor died last year. We'll probably look to getting the motor repaired since fiber optic trees are no longer offered in stores. We traditionally add multiple strands of seven(!) colour C6 LED lights and decorate it with predominantly silvery or white decorations including lots of little birds. Adding multitudes of silver icicles and swaths of angel hair turns the tree into a scene from a magical wintry wonderland where a riot of colour can be seen breaking through a haze of snow and ice. Unfortunately, The MAN has never been able to capture the effect with the camera.

Here from happier times are pictures of our tragically departed beautiful little sister Phoebe with her soul mate Blizzard while he still shone brightly:

 :(

Here I am with Blizzard:

Here's Cowboy with Blizzard:

And here's Blizzard out for a breath of fresh air on the front porch with Deuce:

I love your decorations, Hep! Especially that adorable furry black decoration. You have a lovely tree and some cool cats!

Here are a couple shots of the outside of our house when both Blizzard and his buddy Frosty on the upper level still shone brightly:

Ah man! I forgot to respond!!
I think I have Christmas Season ADD.  (I KNOW I do)
I love the spiderwebby stuff on the tree, and the snow shots -----^
Sadly, I didn't have time to decorate my place until late Christmas day, as I was afraid would happen. So too lake to incur any holiday feelings ....this year.  I'll hoard some pics for next year.  :P

Is that a Steiff squirrel?
George
You know what? It's a mystery squirrel.  I'm not even sure where he came from ....he just kind of appeared one year.  He may have come from my Grandma's stuff when she passed perhaps.  There's no tag on it at all, and I thought it was newer but on inspecting the feet and ears I see built up smudge on them.  But now that you've given me a name, I looked him up and absolutely looks like one! Thanks for the info.  :D

I love this parade of decorations! I am a decoration freak!!
Hep- That garland is so jolly! I love the idea of hanging bulbs from garland...but how do you control ...Splitty- WOW!! Are you a professional decorator? Everything is so lovely! I could gaze at your nature filled mantel all day. And the glow of your trees made my spirit jump. Ahhhh...I'm going to go back and look several more times  :)  I really can't say enough about your mantel- it is so amazing! That little bird nest, and the greenery & snowflakes- BRAVO! It is simply perfect.
awesome  ;D I'm glad you like them. It makes me glowy inside too.
I'm not professional by any means, I just love decorating (and have done Christmas for the family since Junior high).  For my own place, I have to alter the color and paint and bedazzle everything I bring into it. I can't stand plain beige walls. And un-colorized wood shelves almost give heart palpitations.  I paint all my fake house trees with metallic paints. True story.

That spider webby stuff is angel hair. It's spun fiberglass and is very tough to find in stores on this side of the Atlantic. It's available online though.

Here are a few pictures from previous years of our Xmas tree:

The tree is back to full glory! It wasn't the motor that was burned out but just the transformer, and our next door neighbour still had her transformer even though she pitched her tree two years ago. Great luck that!!

I know there are some die-hard Christmas fans.  So, does anyone still have their tree up or keep a fake one up year round?
