Bogey, you just knew that would catch my eye, didn't ya?  Cool scores!  Charming, even, :D...

If I snag another one down the road, it has your name on it and will be coming your way.

Scatter, that is a great find. Heston was as cool as cool can get. Sad that he was vilified towards the end of his life.
He was one of the greatest movie stars of any generation, no doubt about that!
One of my favorite memories of Heston was his appearance in a sketch on Saturday Night Live back in the 80s. He played a demented stock boy/man at a supermarket, and every time his manager would bring up retirement, Heston would tell him how he had dreams of sneaking into a mans house with a shovel and beating him to death, or something similar. It was hysterical, and nice to see that Heston could be jut plain weird!

Greetings! I haven't been posting much for weekly finds lately. A major life change plus not getting around to figuring out my mac (i-photo is NOT Photoshop!). That said, I did have some fun at a local flea market recently. First, I'm attempting to recreate a facsimile of my original Marx Prehistoric Playset, and I came across the elusive "Pot Belly T rex", no doubt made by Marx of Mexico but still prized by dino lovers. Marked fifty cents.

A bag of blow molded dinos -

A COOL shrunken head souvenir pencil!

Renzi Cornelius bank (same size as the large Renzi Kong)

And kinda weird but my brother picked up this Trendmasters big wacky Drac for me at a garage sale bless his heart.

Abuddaabuddaabuuda that's all folks!

I love the colors of the blow-molded dino's--I used to have those.
Nice scores!

Friday night, my wife and I went to a local auction that is held weekly around here.  We like to visit it every now and then.  My wife picks up plants and groceries, but I like to hang out in the "Rings" which are a bunch of tables with stuff from junk (IMO) to some cool stuff.  In the rings, you can group stuff together as long as it's all from the same lot #.   When you do this and get them to start bidding on it, the opening bid is $5.  Sometimes, the stuff can get up there (into the hundreds of dollars) and sometimes no one bids against you and you get it for $5 (plus 10% buyer's premium).  This week, I had a great run and 4 great lots, for only $5 each.

1972 David Cassidy Jigsaw puzzle
1988 hardcover recreation book for the Chaney film A BLIND BARGAIN
KILLERS FROM SPACE VHS tape
2 8mm films, one Disney and one a Charlie Chaplin film (with a generic box)
10 foreign Disney stamps in little plastic cases
a small stack of movie and music postcards (including 2 of Frankenstein)
6 silver plastic Looney Toons silver flicker rings (3 Elmer Fudd, 2 Porky Pig, and 1 Foghorn)(Why couldn't they have been monster ones?!!)
little painted plastic Mexican soldier (marked Merten Germany on the bottom)
brownish-copper-colored hard plastic spaceman
4 Hanna-Barbera Wonder Bread cards with various cartoon characters (1974)
1984 Transformers stamp book (from Marvel)
1978 Battlestar Galactica Ovion alien figure
(although it's in a different photo) old Monkees fan club postcard
pair of silver screw-type earrings marked Siam (it's been Thailand since 1949)

a box of books with the following:
(although it's coverless) a huge book of old Buck Rogers strips
2 Dr. Who paperbacks and a magazine-sized Dr. Who book
2 old Ben Casey paperbacks
Battle for the Planet of the Apes paperback
a Tarzan paperback
a Dennis the Menace paperback
The Bedside MAD paperback
Star Trek Marriage Manual and Officers Manual
2 old Dark Shadows paperbacks (1st prints and unread)
Family Circus paperback
2 Rat Patrol paperbacks
Disney movie MUSTANG paperback
and Addams Family paperback (in beautiful shape)

the next lot had these:
1977 oversized SC book Science-Fiction and Horror Movie Posters in Full Color
7 (out of 8) lobby card/stills form the movie FOUL PLAY
"for your nomination consideration" SC books for UP and WALL-E
Oscar program book for the March 2006 awards
old TWA promotional papers
3 Disney sets for the old GE Show'N Tell toy
3 View-Master sets Man on the Moon, U.S. Spaceport, and The Munsters
pictured are also some Disney pressbooks/paper (These were actually in the book lot)

the final lot blew me away.  There were some Star Trek collector plates on a table that I wanted (3 large and 4 minis)(pictured), but I told the guy just to make a lot of all the collector plates that they had there (not pictured) 2 Simpsons, 1 Precious Moments, 2 Ellis Island, 4 with dolphins and orcas (I forget the artist's name), 1 with a horse running on a beach, and a Disney Lion King one.  What I didn't realize was that he was also including 4 Precious Moments bisque figures that were in the middle of the plates on display.  My wife collects Disney stuff, so she was very happy with the Disney accumulation, adn she has a friend that is into Precious Moments, so they will go to her.  I couldn't believe that nobody bid against me on this lot.  I wish it was always this way.

Wow! You had a great day! I especially like the Munsters Viewmaster's-I'd be a little jealous if I didn't already have one. The plates are cool, too. Good work!

Not bad for a $20 Bill. The Munster View Master is worth at least 3 times that alone.  ;)

Awesome deal Rob,
Wish I live closer so I can go to those auctions.  So different from around here.
