I love the target set!  Very cool, indeed.

The Dollar Stores have re-stocked the monster stuff, but they were ordered to destroy all the Godzilla merchandise; so if you see any of that, get it.

Nice find Ray.  I haven't seen this set at all since the 1979 release.  Great pics. David

QuoteI should have shown him these grinning kids having good natured Alien fun.  You see, it's just a wholesome monster romp.  Nothing to worry about.

Tell me about it though. Introducing my two youngest to ALIEN a year or so back, with some trepidation, their ages being too young in the estimations of some, I was doubly mortified to find not only did they not find the chest-burster scene distressing, they thought the critter hissing like an overcooked shellfish, and skittering across the Nostromo table, one of the funniest things they'd ever seen. They wouldn't stop laughing for five minutes. And until you've seen my youngest laugh at something he finds really funny, you have absolutely no idea what that entails .....

This is he..... a lot earlier, having been UM-indoctrinated, sure, but c'mon, ALIEN....

Here they are actually laughing at the STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL, but the ALIEN response was like this, only more extreme...

These responses were actually elicited by the scene where Chewie's ageing father is watching Imperial soft porn starring Diahann Carroll... but you get the idea.

Kids today. No respect for the classics of any decade.

Thank you and back to topic.

I actually got these back on Easter, but have just gotten around to photographing them now.  My wife Diane went to the Philippines to visit with her family and I gave her 3 shirts with pictures and asked her to get them airbrushed for me.  If I had known how great they were going to turn out, I probably would have sent more.  The last shirt is not an airbrush, but rather some fabric that I had gotten years ago and finally had made into a button shirt.    Rob

and a close of the fabric pattern...

WOW!! Those are fantastic!! Ghouls go crazy 'bout a sharp dressed man.

Monster sighting at Dollar Tree!!!  ;D

I just pick up a set of 5 Monster Thumb Wrestlers (Frank, Drac, Wolfie, Mummy and Kong).

They are in the same movie poster packaging as the mini-PVC figures and taken from the same molds only larger and holding clubs.

I'd snap a pic but I left my phone at home. I'll try and get one on this weekend if anyone's interested...

YEAH!! I wanna see them for sure!!

I told you I would show you new photos when I got this Marx Frankie box restored.

Here is a shot of the box as I received it.  Not bad, but has a few issues.

I sent the box to a professional restoration studio, one that works on museum artifacts, rare movie posters and other highfalutin stuff.  Here it is after some restoration.

I think they did just enough without going overboard.  It still looks like an "old" box, which is what I wanted.  Too much restoration and you might as well buy a repro.

Here are some closer shots of the box.

Here is a shot of Frankie.  You can see the dab of blood on his nose.

I didn't send the toy to them, just the box.

There are different opinions about restoration of toys.  I don't think I would have considered doing this before I started having rubber masks foamed.  I guess mask foaming is like a gateway drug.  One thing kind of leads to another.  Before you know it, you are having toys restored.  Next, I'll be linen backing posters.

Looks pretty nice! Although, unless there's more damage to the bottom that we couldn't see, I think I would have been happy with it as it was. As long as the front image is relatively displayable, I think it's cool. But to each his own.... As long as you like it.

The only thing I bought recently, besides those pink Kongs, was this Phantom Planet one-sheet. Not the best poster ever, but a good value at only $50, imo. And it looks better there than the "Make Them Die Slowly" poster that used to be in that spot. I like that poster and all, but it was out of place with more vintage stuff and an upgrade needed to happen..

Super finds guys. Love the box art on the Frankie Ray.  Looks good.  The PHANTOM PLANET was a nice buy, and i like the artwork on the poster.  David.

I love this pic, Ray.  Can you crop it a bit and throw in the Frankenstein Digest thread?

The box looks great, Ray. Thanks for posting those pics.
I had to grab 'em for my Infinitely Indexed Memory Bank.

As mentioned elsewhere, I attended Wonderfest on Saturday and spent a good chunk of my time haunting the dealer's room. I didn't buy much classic monster stuff, but I did pick up the following:

This is a Mattel Muffit the Daggit from "Battlestar Galactica" and his pullstring talker still works:

This is a carded Imperial "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" bendy Alien. The card is kinda rough but the Alien is still in nice shape. I had one of these years ago that I bought at the local Ben Franklins:

This is a pair of 1976 King Kong drinking glasses. I picked up the subway car glass at Wonderfest, and the other glass with Kong battling the snake was found at an antique mall a few months ago.

The first pic also shows my copy of Ultraman Series One Volume Two on DVD that I found at Wonderfest. I bought Volume One when it came out but missed out on the second volume. A dealer at Wonderfest had a stack of them for $15.00 each :)

Nice George, I have those Kong glasses stored somewhere in my basement.  The images were much better than the movie.
