The Star Trek Bridge kit by AMT is dated '75. I'm always confused as to when the first run of any Trek model is dated. I assume this bridge is a first run even though it's '75.

That is indeed a first run kit.

Yea UP.....you got it! A Milton Bradley game I got at the toy show. Not so interested in the game, but Bigfoot was a "gotta have".

I actually had that Bigfoot game as a child and played it a bunch of times! Nice score!

Not that there wasn't interest before or after, but the 1970s were the peak of interest in Bigfoot, the Yeti, the Bermuda Triangle, UFOs, the Loch Ness Monster, etc.  It was a great time to be a kid.

A lot of interest has returned in cryptozoology and urban legends recently, but it's not like when I was a kid in the 1970's. As a kid, your mind is completely open to possibility and the world seemed more magical. It was interesting to live in a world where there could be Bigfoots in the backyard, sea monsters in the ocean and flying saucers in the night sky.

Jimm, that is a sweet model! Is the ape figure as big in the kit as shown on the box. I'm trying to imagine how difficult it looks for the 6MDM figure to glue-up and hold such a large object over his head.   I'm really not familiar with this series of models....how many 6MDM models were there?    Buddy

Aside from the obvious need to be repainted, it gives you an idea of the proportions.

The other models are one with Steve grabbing a motorcycle, one smashing through a steel door/brick wall, and one where he is fighting with an aliigator.  There is also a Bionic Woman Bionic Repair Kit with Jaime Summers and Oscar Goldman.

Did someone put a "Kick Me" sign on my back recently?   It's enough to make a guy poop out a bubble. 

Well, if there's someone out there that would like to professionally assemble/restore and paint all my models for free...I'm OK with that.    Oh, and the grass needs cutting.

Like my love for monster movies, my model painting talent is also that a young boy.  That's the most frustrating part...I can visualize something spectacular in my mind's eye, but the message gets lost on the way to my hands.   -'sigh'-

The thing is that these kits were designed to be sold to young boys so it's only right and proper that they be painted the way a young boy would paint them.
