Frankenstein Pencil Sharpener Question

I was curious to know what the value ranges are for the Frankenstein pencil sharpener. I see The Wolfman and Mummy ones quite often, and Etta the Ghoul surfaces from time to time, but I've never actually seen a Frankenstein come up for auction or sale (live or online).

Does anyone have one? If you do, it would be cool if you post a pic and tell me where you got it (and the price you paid as I can only guess).

Toy Ranch

They are pretty rare, and run in the $300 to $500 range (each)

I love that pencil sharpener, I don't own one though. I don,t know much ... I think they were made by A.B.G. company? I've seen 2 or 3 go on ebay, if my memory serves they went in the high $200,s and high $300's the color had a lot to do with the price difference. I don't recall which colors were rarest, but I'm sure there are guys here that can tell us about everything on these.

That is a very cool display box Toy Ranch! Thanks for posting.....$300-$500....Wow! I saw a Glenn Strange Frankenstein Halloween Bucket recently sell on eBay that went for almost $700. The last 3 Frankenstein buckets I saw sell in the last 2 years averaged about $350, so the Pencil sharpener is in that price range....

Was the Frankenstein sharpener just made in much less quantities than the other monster pencil sharpeners or are there just a lot more Frankenstein collectors out there that buy em all up?

Monster Bob

The other three heads (and the displays) were found in quantity maybe 12 years ago. Many more Wolfman and Mummys, but the Ghoul was found in quantity. For whatever reason, no Franks in the load, and I think the ones that do pop are survivors. IOW, they would all be hard to find if not for the find, and I would think the display would have otherwise been really tough to find. The heads you see on ebay are from that find, for the most part.

Some colors of some of the others are pretty rare too.  The green mummy is common, but other colors are hard to find and sometimes command a premium over $100.

There was a Wolf Man and Frankenstein a few years ago that popped up on the card.  These went for around $1000 each, as I recall.

Monsters For Sale

I missed this auction by mere seconds tonight, (sigh). I was literally buying it when it told me the item was no longer for sale. Frank was finally in my grasp, only to slip through my fingers. it would have looked great in my vintage sharpener counter display.

Dr.Terror

I can't believe after all these years no one has made a SOLID resin repop in a color never available in the 60's.

Oh I've been willing to make them for some time.  But I haven't been able to get my hands on a Frankenstein. :(

I made these molds/glow resin busts years ago. I even made a Universal Monster Army display (that's why this "store display" is blue and not red)....

Ah, those were the good old days. ;)
