Wish I could! Last one I was at was Oct. 1998. Between my mom's declining health and my declining funds, it just ain't gonna happen. I should've gone back in 2004 or '05, when Mom was still in pretty good shape.

For the last several years, I've tried to get to Chiller for at least one day.  Hopefully one of these years, I'll manage a multi-day.  For this year, the only day available for me was Friday.  I have been making the trek over the last several years because it was a chance to meet up with Robert Taylor ("typhooforme" on the UMA) and last year and this to also see Cousin Sara Waugh (UMA's "vpdogjoe").  My base of operations was Sara Karloff's table where Robert and Cousin Sara help out.  I tried to a small part in helping out as well.  Sara Karloff is an amazing woman with a wicked sense of humor and a lot of patience to answer questions that fans of her father wanted to ask.  Every year so far, I had forgotten to get a photo of me with Sara Kaloff, so this was the year to get it taken.



I also got pictures of me with Cousin Sara and Robert Taylor.




I also got to fianlly meet Julie Adams of THE CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON fame.  I have been waiting for years to meet this icon.


I also got to say a brief "Hello" to Mike Gilks.  There was just so much to do, people to see, and there's just not enough time in the day. 

I'm still exhausted and sitting around waiting for a hurricane.  "It was the best of times.  It was the worst of times."

Did the convention end early on Sunday? I heard people were leaving trying to avoid (and prepare) for the storm.

I.think.the.ending.time.of.the.Chiller.con.on.Sunday.was.5:00pm,.and.as.the.early.afternoon.hours.passed,
fans.became.pretty.scarce..We.started.shutting.down.some.of.the.Karloff.table.around.3:30.or.4:00,.and.
Julie.Adams.and.son.Mitch.also.folded...We.heard.that.in.other.rooms,.many.of.the.celebs.had.already.shut.
down...the.weather.news.certainly.put.the.kibosh.on.the.Sunday.afternoon.doin's,.but.Friday.and.Saturday.
were.well-attended...It.was.great.to.visit.with.Rob.Tullo,.as.always,.and.I.spoke.a.little.time--not.nearly.
enough--with.Mike.Gilks,.too...Got.a.great.Zacherly.cd.from.him,.and.a.Zach-signed.photo,.too...I.deserted.
my.Sara.Karloff.assistance.duties.long.enough.to.talk.to.Johnny.Crawford.(Mark.McCain.on.THE.RIFLEMAN,
a.favorite.Western.series.of.mine.from.my.youth),.but.my.main.reason.for.talking.to.Johnny.was.that.he's.
a.musician.and.band.leader,.an.expert.in.the.'20s-30s.music.that.is.another.of.my.longtime.hobbies...Had.a.
great.time.talking.to.Johnny.after.hours.several.times,.too...Also.got.a.kick.visiting.with.Valerie.Harper.for.
a.while--a.very.friendly,.funny.lady...She.hasn't.aged.since.her.old.tv.comedy.series.days....and.speaking.
of.not.aging--Zacherly,.in.his.mid-90s.now,.looks.the.same.as.always,.and.seems.to.have.energy.to.spare!
Julie.Adams.was.in.the.same.room.as.Cortlandt.Hull.and.our.Karloff.table,.so.that.was.great--Julie.is.one.
of.the.world's.sweetest.ladies.and.a.BIG.fan.favorite--her.line.was.pretty.much.endless.on.Fri.and.Sat.
I.bought.her.latest.publication,.a.CD-set.of.her.autobiography,.READ.BY.JULIE.HERSELF!..TOP.NOTCH!
Had.a.good.time.at.Chiller,.as.usual--have.been.a.friend.of.Sara.Karloff's.for.about.14.years.now.and.it's.
always.a.lot.of.fun.to.work.with.her....My.other.Sara,.my.cousin,.and.I.made.it.home.from.Jersey.just.fine--
a.13.hr.drive.back.to.Ohio--some.heavy.winds,.a.lot.of.rain,.cold.temps,but.no.real.trouble.on.the.road..
Sorry.to.leave.Chiller,.but.glad.to.be.home.again.

During.the.course.of.Chiller.weekend,.I.figure.Johnny.Crawford.and.I.talked.for.over.12.hours!...about.old.tv,.old.music,.RIFLEMAN.episodes,.etc...had.a.lot.of.quality.after-show.conversation.every.evening...He's.definitely.one.of.the.good.guys.of.the.celeb.world,.and.especially.made.me.happy.talking.about.how.muc.he.admired.John.Carradine.(who.was.guest.star.in.a.RIFLEMAN.episode...I.think.it.was.called."The.Photographer").
