Vinyl collectors should take a peak at Barnes & Noble. Many of their audiophile 180g records are 50% off. I got albums by Bowie, Iggy, Lou Reed and others for $9.99. I dropped $200 there today.

Mord

Bought these records at the Barnes & Noble vinyl sale and will be listening to them throughout the next few weeks :

1. Bowie - Man Who Sold The World (amazing guitar work from Ronson)
2. Bowie - Hunky Dory
3. Bowie - Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders from Mars
4. Iggy Pop - The Idiot
5. Lou Reed - Street Hassle
6. Television- Marque Moon
7. The Replacements - Tim (on translucent magenta vinyl, no less)
8. Led Zeppelin III

Whew, I've been wanting to splurge on records for some time now.

Randy Newman - Sail Away (1972)
Essentially, a perfect album. Fantastic songwriter (Political Science is a personal favorite).

I made a station on Pandora for The Gories.  There's the expected cross-pollination with the Cramps station, but there's also much more lo-fi Garage Punk goodness. Some highlights:

The King Khan and BBQ Show - "Lonely Boy" and "Shake Real Low"  (Although "Zombies" is probably my all-time fave by them)
Gizmos - "See About You"
Les Sexareenos - "Everybody Sexareeno!"
Immortal Lee County Killers - "Train She Rides"
Armitage Shanks - "You're Here I'm Hooked You're Gone"
Coachwhips - "I Put It In, Way Down South"
Barrence Whitfield and The Savages - "The Corner Man"
Reatards - "Give It To Me"
Beat Happening - "I Spy"
The Controllers - "Jezebel"
BBQ - "Hang It Up"
The Undertones - "Teenage Kicks"
The Penetrators - "Baby Don'tcha Tell Me
Hipbone Slim and The Knee Tremblers - "I Hear An Echo"

Theres also more standard stuff like Iggy, The Detroit Cobras, MC5, Plastic Bertrand, etc.

Definitely has me moving and getting stuff done around here!
Stay sick. Turn blue. Drop dead.
