Stone-cold classic!  "Outta my mind on Saturday night...". Doesn't get much better.

T.V. Eye and Down on the Street are my two faves.
But....1970, kicks butt, too.

I still have this VERY rare punk tape I got out of the punk mag Maximunm R+R.

Black Sabbath  - We Sold Our Souls for Rock'n'Roll

Still packs quite a punch.

Great stuff!! You know when you open that record and there's that picture of the women with cross, laying in the coffin? I always wanted someone to make that a poster. I would totally hang that in monster room.

What would you have added? Maybe, it should have been a double cd.
I think I would have used Pali Gap, Room Full Of Mirrors, Hey Baby(Land Of The New Rising Sun) and maybe the up tempo version of Bleeding Heart. From the Woodstock set I would have thrown in Villanova Junction.

If it was a two disc set I'd throw in Machine Gun and Voodoo Chile or Rainy Day Dream Away.
Also would have substituted Drifting for Angel.

I know there is the Hendrix thread but thought more people would this here.
Back in the mid 70's I bought an 8 track that had some rarely ever heard tracks from his earlier days in blues based stuff.
I have never seen a compilation with any of these songs.

Aside from that one track I cannot  find any thing on CD from this release.

Go Go Shoes    2:47
Red House    8:02
Wipe the Sweat - part 1    2:47
Wipe the Sweat - part 2    3:29
Wipe the Sweat - part Segway    2:41
Groove Maker    2:13
People Peoples    6:39
Blues Blues    5:59
Lime Lime    3:46
Whoa Ehh'    3:03
She's a Fox

You can get most of those tracks on Lonnie Youngblood Featuring Jimi Hendrix Two Great Experiences CD. Its out print though and you have to be patient to snag a copy for a sane price. Some of the tracks near the end of the disc you listed come from a jam with a very drunk Jim Morrison. That song She's A Fox is my favorite pre fame Hendrix track.

Thanks Brother for that info. Once 8 tracks became obsolete I thought I would never hit those songs again.
Something that a lot of people don't know, and unless the data is wrong ,that JH was actually a background guitar for little Richard

He was a session player, early in his career.

I remember buying all these cheap albums that said "featuring Jimi Hendrix" (Isley Bros. etc),  only to be severely disappointed. No blazing guitar solos, just background stuff. You wouldn't even know he was on the record, if not for the cover.

I'm listening to The Replacements, "Pleased to Meet Me" l.p..  Great rock and roll.

Just a guitar for hire, playing somebody else's music.

Exactly. The problem being, that the album covers made him sound like the star player.

It's called "marketing". (Or, "gimme your money, suckers!")

Man! I have always loved that gatefold to We Sold....Besides Sabbath self-titled cover art.
