So why doesn't he post over here? Does that other group have posters more knowledgeable and congenial than the ones on this board?

 ???
Factory Entertainment still posts here, even though their VFX Frankenstein Maquette got raked over the coals!

Don't you remember when all that re-cast mess started up?(and please let's not start that again) A  buncha folks left our group after all that hubba baloo. It really turned some folks off the UMA..... and they quit. I am pretty sure McDee was among them. Because I remember freaking out when he left. He's really up on what Monarch and Moebius are doing. I think they may be friends. Cyber buds at least to be sure. 8)

Oh I remember alright. That's precisely the issue this board was designed to sidestep. I just didn't associate the name McDee with the poster of the same name and I'd forgotten that he was involved in that kerfuffle.

Todd P, Danny(Wolfman66), Kirk, Brian, and the list goes on...all respected men in the Hobby... all straight shooters and all ,friends of mine....all no longer members here....

Who are Todd P, Kirk and Brian anyway?

Most likely respected names in the resin modeling community. Think what Don Post Jr. and Justin Mabry are to mask making, and you'll get the general idea. I think Todd P. does a blog called resin barbarian if I am not mistaken.

I don't think it really matters. If they left because the UMA admins & mods refuse to embroil themselves in the whole recasting issue, and refuse to post their info here as a result, then they'll just have to rely on people like Anton to eventually repost it. If they're only putting out one kit a year, then it's not worth rehashing the whole sorry situation.

Why? McKillop already stated he will have it here by year's end. You speculating or do you actually have some information on the subject with regards to Monarch's business?

Monarch showed the sculpt and a test run kit already. If it's just a web hosting issue, no reason the release of the kit should be impacted at all.

I don't mean to be ignorant, but why is a hosting issue taking so long to remedy?

Monarch Models is a one man show. Literally. Ran by Scott McKillop. As a hobby more or less. He is a professional type. Doctor or lawyer or something. Tinkering with Monarch is a pastime. It was filling a void left by Polar lights shuttering for awhile. Then Moebius popped up. I am guessing the folks at Moebius are more interested in actually making some money off their kits. Monarch's website was hacked... and the hackers sent out ads for male enhancement and weight loss tablets. I know. because I got the emails sent to my inbox. He's got other irons in the fire. Most folks know the website was never updated anyway.

I am sure his professional life takes precedence over updates about Gorgo. Or correcting a website that was never updated anyway. Easier to shut it down and just have folks "in the know" get the word out via word of mouth. Like McDee does elsewhere and used to do here. To the best of my knowledge, Monarch isn't "going out of business"...because its not that "big" of a business compared to his day job anyway. If McDee tells me they are shuttering---then I will believe it. He has their ear.

Quote from: Hepcat That would really be sad. Monarch and Moebius were carrying the hobby.

Will all the great Garage Kits out there you really think there would be a hobby if it was only these two?   ::)
