I have enjoyed most of the logos Universal/MCA has had over the years, but hated the most recent one - the first fully CGI that debuted about a decade ago and has been in use since.  It was ugly.  The color was  cold and somehow "off," and it always bothered me.  I love this new one.  It goes back to the older color schemes of the '70s and blends it with the style of the logo that debuted in the early '90s.   Very appealing.  And thank God that 2000 version is gone forever.
I totally agree, the new one is awesome! I know which logo you are talking about and I didn't like it either

Thanks for posting the link to the large image.  It's pretty darn cool although it makes me ill to see "A Comcast Company" printed on the bottom.  I think I'll clone that out when I save the image as my wall paper.

That's always bothered me too - since the first time I saw it tacked on the bottom.

It is like having Ted Turner's name attached to all those old classics that he had nothing to do with producing.

Well, at least they are keeping all these wonderful movies from rotting away in some vault.
