I'm stripping my Bates Mansion, and starting fresh - anyone have an opinion on giving the old girl a once over with a base coat? And what paint works well for this type of job?

I base coated mine grey and then dry brushed antique white over the shingles. i then weathered it up further with some black pastel powder to give it an even older look. I even added the stairs and extended the base to look like the hill. Here's some pics of mine. Hope it helps.

I used varying shades of brown for mine, giving a nod to the Phantom Manor attraction at Disneyland Paris.
