A luscious setting, but an all too predictable plot with a ridiculous monster.

Excellent pteranodons and triceratops, decent allosauruses (I think), a WWI German U-boat and lots of action! The plesiosaur was lousy though (too thick-headed) and the girl never stripped down. Still a very good flick all in all.

Me I was cheering for Dr. Carruthers and the bats to prevail. Oh well. Not every flick can have a happy ending.

The Giant Behemoth (1959)

You might call this flick a practice run for Gorgo which took the same theme and the same setting a couple of years later and really nailed it with superior execution. For one thing the Behemoth itself looked rather fake in this earlier movie.

That Land that Time Forgot trailer does make it looks pretty kick ass.

Son of Kong (1933)

Well the triceratops was pretty good, and so was the volcanic eruption at the end. Still the original King Kong released earlier in the year was better.

A Vincent Price classic and it couldn't be any more timely! What else do you need to know, professor?
