Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark (2019)

Is is just me or is "Scary Stories" average at best?

I'd agree.  I've seen episodes Goosebumps and Are You Fraid of the Dark that were better.

I didn't turn it off, but I sure checked my phone a lot while watching.

Alucarda (1977)~A little afternoon nunsploitation; I enjoyed this one for the most part but the ending felt rushed and hollow.

Great double feature! Yorga was one of my cult faves, growing up.

Finished Castlevania.  Those last few episodes got reallllll weird.  I liked it a lot though.  That show is brilliant.

It's a shame the company that makes Castlevania games doesn't seem to want to do anything with the franchise that isn't a pachinko machine.

Crawlers (2020) and Treehouse~Two movies released under Hulu's (Blumhouse) Into the Dark anthology banner.  Crawlers was ok, just a decent time waster; kind of Idle Hands vibe but never reaches that level of fun.  Treehouse looked really promising from the trailer but only offered an ounce of that promise.  I may check out some of the other entries but I'm not holding out to be blown away by any of them; there are currently 18 films.

 Contagion (again) -
I played my disc while flipping back to live news programming. Man, it's even scarier this way.
