I need a kinder, gentler Halloween. With more devils, pumpkin men, witches, and Universal Monsters that don't look like Fred MacMurray under the makeup.

MacMurray or Lugosi as The Monster in Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man?.....That just may be a worthwhile debate.  ;) ;D

A catalog called Casual Living showed up in today's mail. It's mostly women's clothing, but a couple of things  looked interesting.

If anyone is interested in ordering, PM me and I'll provide ordering information.

Oh lordy, break out the riot gear, the Coffin Joe fans will descend upon us en masse now ;)

Hey, there was no mention of ME being guilty of warping Halloween into a sick and depraved holiday.

His stuff is one of a kind... and he doesn;t always use the same design or pattern on later attempts at the same subject. If yo ufollow that photobucket link I posted, you'll see a number of different creature jacks hes done over the years.

When I first saw him selling them on ebay, they'd end at $60-$70.. and I was too cheap (or broke) to pick on up.. now they end between $150 and $270 I think.

I wonder how long it'll be before a major manufacturer stars making something like them manufacturered?

A set of UM ones that matched and sold for $20 each would be SO sweet.

Check ebay out for pumpkinking77, and search his completed items for that joker auction.. you can see what it closed at that way.

He usually sells about 20-30 new jacks a year I think.

Yeah, those are some of the nicest looking carvings I've seen. I could see a company mass-producing something like them, but it's not nearly as cool as having a one of a kind, hand-carved piece.

I had tried looking up his eBay ID, but I couldn't find any completed items. But I'm sure Mr. J went way over my poor college student budget. Oh, well. Nice to admire, anyway.

Ok meager pickins so far but I found this at the Dollar Tree, not in with the Halloween stuff which they were just starting to bring out (check back tomorrow)

NICE Kong for a buck! I'm not too into plush stuff but the artwork on the tag is from an original poster - I guarantee you've seen it before, can you tell me where?

Next - when I say meager I mean MEAGER as in barely Frankensteinable:

It's one of those "screaming screechers" or whatever, found at Michael's. He had that crazy long hair but he visited my basement barbershop and then got some proper black acrylic hair!

Saving the coolest by far for last is a thrift store find, an LP on a shelf with a bunch of used smiling witch candleholders:

The track list:

Still in cellophane! But I am going to listen to it I love my vinyl.

I will keep checking and reporting, still waiting for "the surprise".

I like that Kong.  I'm going to have to check Dollar Tree for one.

That Kong has a cool Bigfoot vibe.  I need to get one!  Maybe they'll make a whole line of unlicensed plush monsters.

I went into a grocery store today and saw the beginnings of a Halloween aisle.  Yes, that time is here.

Wow!  I can't believe people are spending that much on carved funkins.  Those things can be picked up for next to nothing after Halloween but of course you have to carve them yourself.  Here's 2 that I carved a few years ago-

Not quite as fancy as pumpkinkings but they do for me.  I have 4 more funkins I bought last year that I still need to carve the other Universal Monsters into.

Was at Walgreens today and noticed that they are putting out their Halloween items but nothing really caught my eye, also Wal-mart has cards (no Universal this year) out but no other merchandise just yet.
