The WORST Non-Monster film you ever saw.
« on: June 30, 2012, 08:57:43 PM »
What is the worst film you ever had to sit through? Stuff that didn't live up to the hype or maybe something that just made you want to pull your teeth out with channel locks while watching it?

I think I can say with all honesty that Showgirls might be the biggest POS I ever had to sit through. I remember it was all the rage when it came out--all my 19-22 yr old friends were convinced it was going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread and every single minute of it I felt my tumor getting larger.

Now here is the kicker--so we were at my old apt on a Saturday evening watching this film. It was about the hottest day of the century and me and 3 other guys were nursing beers and watching it. This was part of me getting involved in my first real band too--so the guitarist was the doodling on his guitar through a small practice amp and I was doing the same thing with a bass guitar. All of the sudden because of the heat......the amps died, then the lights went out and the small window unit A/C with it. You know what, for whatever reason didn't lose power??? The TV AND THE VCR--Showgirls played on....and I sat in my sweltering apartment with 3 other dudes, forced to watch that excrement.

I am convinced that film is possessed and tries to hurt people.

Showgirls is the worst thing I've ever seen on a televison set. What's yours?

Titanic.  Only good thing about it is Kate Winslett's tits and they are not worth 3 1/2 hours of idiocy and misery.

Not even the presence of Vincent Price, Bernard Lee, and Denholm Elliott could save IT'S NOT THE SIZE THAT COUNTS (a.k.a PERCY'S PROGRESS) about the man to receive the first penis transplant.  I actually managed to find this on VHS.  Dreadful.   :blank:

I can see the point about Titanic  It has to be one of the worst. The boat sank--get over it.

On a lighter note there is: Darling Lili. Julie Andrews and Rock Hudson in a World War I musical romance. :o
The danged thing was directed by Blake Edwards.  And the screenplay credits included Edwards and William Peter Blatty (of Exorcist fame). Henry Mancini did the music.  She is a music hall star (and German spy) -- He is an American fighter pilot.  Love and hilarity ensues. :P

I'm petty sure I did watch films that I hated and call it one of worse movies that I have ever seen in my life...

The problem is, the worst films that I watched are forgettable... So here am I, trying to remember one off my head...

I thought Showgirls was kind of sweet, BL. At the end, Nomi learned a valuable lesson about life.   :)
The worst movie I ever had to sit through, because I was in a theater with my sister and her friends and I couldn't leave, is blehhhhh (I can't even type the name)
GREASE!!!!  I hate that movie soooo much! It's cheap and overblown! The story sucks and the acting and music make me feel queasy.

Wait..you liked Showgirls and hated Grease!?--I don't mind Grease at all. Some good music, 2 very awesome cars and let's face it, Olivia Newton-John was an asbsolutely epic slut. I mean that get up at the end blows that Farrah Fawcett poster out of the water!!! HOOOOOOOOOT.

You know what would've been really cool??? If right after Greased Lightning took off at the end it had a malfunction and plumetted out of the sky smack dab onto everything that has anything to do with Showgirls. Then the kids of Rydell High can sing "We'll always be together" around the burning, smouldering wreckage that was once show girls......now that's a movie!

And Kyle MacLachlan would run by screaming "San Dimas High School Football Rules!!!!!"
Why would he even do that movie?? I think I liked the sparkly costumes in Showgirls and it had a plot. But Grease makes me feel sweaty and claustrophobic!
I'm not a big fan of any of the players in Grease, and I hate all the musical numbers except for the Sha Na Na cameo.

Every shallow, formulaic made-for-TV chick flick I tolerantly sat through when I was married.

Oh Lundy....I'm so sorry. Those are just the worst wastes of film. Are you talking about the "victim" movies or the "finding love after heartbreak" movies? Either way, they are AWFUL!!  Who is still watching these things??

Sorry, count me among the likers of GREASE.  Besides, GREASE 2 was dreadful and not even Michelle Pfieffer could save it.

My wife watches BURLESQUE everytime it's on - the screeching vocals actually hurt my head and I retire quickly as possible to my monster room for some Paul Revere & The Raiders!

It's not the worse, though - just the most annoying.

Something just popped up in my mind today...

Transformers 2 sucks... It stinks like hell... Freakin' walking skunk bomb... I never watch third one after it.

Heck I'm not a fan of transformers stuff and I thought that first movie was good...

Yeah man Transformers 2 was pretty unbearable and I'm a huge fan of the franchise.

G.I.Joe, I'm pretty sure gave me a tumor that I managed to vomit out of my eye socket while walking out of the theatre.

Oh and how could I forget.....7 Brides for 7 Cowboys, or 7--well it's not the Magnificent 7 because that's great. This is a movie with singing cowboys that are wearing more make up then every 1980's glam metal band combined. It was actually on TV recently but I can CLEARLY remember seeing this on over my grandmother's house and hating it. This is why my grandfather was the man....singing cowboys on downstairs, a bag of pretzels and A&C meet Frankenstein upstairs.

Another one that both me and gramps have no love for--West Side Story. I'm not watching two street gangs settle their differences with a dance. Did you just read what I typed?? What were they thinking??? I mean what is the initiation to get into these gangs? It must be something that there are no words to describe! Can you imagine what the cops must think when they here "there is a 167 in progress--dancing in an alley way".....I will never forget my uncle who LOVES this crapolla saying "Oh this is a great scene" and my grandfather who was rough around the edges to say the least going "Yeah.....dance it out fella's" Then we went upstairs and played with walkie talkies.

Grandpa 1 West Side Story 0
