What are some of the newer Godzilla movies worth watching, and which ones should I stay away from?

I don't have too many of the newer films, but my favorite is Final Wars. It's a lot like Destroy All Monsters, just updated versions of them. The movie is a lot of fun. I think so at least. :)

Thanks!  I'll check it out.

The only one I've really heard about is Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All Out Attack.  The latest issue of Famous Monsters is all about kaiju movies, which has really sparked my interest.

I like "GMK: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack" and "Godzilla 2000" the best. "Final Wars" was fun but there were so many bigtime battles they couldn't do them justice. It kind of reminded me of the DC vs. Marvel comic series from a few years back- too much content for the available space.

Avoid at all costs the recent American made version,  although having the the little godzillas slipping around on ball bearings was funny, the film as a whole was awful.

Which one was that?  Was it the Mathew Broderick one?

I kinda liked all of the Millennial films ("Godzilla 2000" through "Godzilla: Final Wars"). "Godzilla vs. Destroyah" was pretty cool, too.

I love all the 1990's- Final Wars.  Wish they'd make more. I miss the big guy.

Yeah, Godzilla 2000 & Final Wars for me.

Godzilla vs Space Godzilla is one of the weaker entries, but find it worth a look as I like the concept & design of Space G.

I just got my hands on the new Gamera trilogy blu ray boxset.  Amazon is selling it for $8!  Just got done watching the first one, and I quite enjoyed it!  I'm going to finish watching these before I move on to the newer Godzilla films.

I thought the new Gamera trilogy was well done as well.  Other new Godzilla you might like is 'Tokyo S.O.S.' and 'Godzilla vs. Megaguirus'.

I have Toyko SOS in the netflix queue, but I'll add the other one.  Thanks!

Haven't had a chance to watch them yet.  But the bonus features include some deleted scenes and on set interviews.
